"Everything was very exceptional even the butter tasted special! The pork and sauce was very tasty and tender, the omelette was one of the best I have ever had and all the fixings were both very traditional and well proportioned for our group of 6. The coleslaw was so awesome I had to ask for a sample of their sauce to take home! Of course, sweetness all around too with copious amounts of true maple syrup, and then the meal ended with MORE maple syrup in both a creamy hand made mini tart and swirled on a stick. The staff were very attentive being both there when we needed something but not bothersome with constant table checks. We sat at a long table with another group and really enjoyed the atmosphere of meeting new people over a meal too. We attended for supper on a week night so there was no music, but honestly, with all the happy chatter and great ambience it was a perfectly pleasent evening just like that! Thank you very much to all the hard working staff for preparing so much home made food. It was worth every penny and we will definitely be back!"

"Experience wonderful French cuisine in a lovely rural setting in western Quebec. This auberge, with beautifully modernized rooms, hosts up to 15 people for dinner. The a la carte menu must be reserved 2 days in advance (consult webpage) as the food is locally sourced from farmers and everything is made fresh. The a la carte is a prix fixe. We started with an amuse bouche of orange and yellow pepper soup. The sauteed foie gras with mango and the homemade gravlax were sublime appetizers. A palate cleanser of kiwi apple sorbet was a treat as were the fresh french rolls that kept coming out of the oven. When we ran out, Christian, the chef, produced more. The main courses of bison with tea sauce and scallops in red pepper and orange sauce were equally wonderful. An interesting variety of crunchy, freshly steamed vegetables accompanied the mains. Another sorbet granite followed before the dessert of nougat ice cream cake with mango coulis was served. Diners can bring in their own bottle of wine (no corkage fee applied.) The special occasion was made even more so with the highly personalized table service of Lise and the entertaining discussion with Christian. This was the best dining experience we have had in a long time. It is a little treasure in the Val-des-Monts region, about 40 minutes away from Ottawa."

"Simply fantastic on every level!!! Location was perfect, rustic, in the country side, ideal for a cosy family evening. There were of us, family and friends, kids and adults. Everybody had a wonderful time. Food was great, there was a lot and the whole...group went home very full. It was also a nice touch to have the syrup candy on ice after dinner inside, as opposed to having it out in the cold. Service was friendly and a couple of our specific requests were met without hesitation. We were the last to stay, but servers and singer stayed an extra hour to entertain, as we had so much fun. It was great socialising with other folks, and we danced all night. A very authentic and genuine experience, everything you would want from a Cabane a Sucre. Regarding price, I had no problems, considering you bring your own alcohol, there is no corkage fee, there was an entertainer, plus all you can eat food. Keep in mind they are only open a couple months of the year. Regarding the Paypal deposit, that was unique but understandable, and the refund was there next day, so no complaints. Overall a great experience!!!"
