"What has gone wrong. We have dined here numerous times always been very good. Last visited recently but something went badly wrong. Ordered food and drinks, drinks arrived promptly and then we waited and waited and waited,after an hour our main courses arrived the only course ordered. No explanation or apology as to why took so long. Having finished food more drink ordered, again arrived promptly but because plates not removed not a lot of space on table. Waited to be asked re desserts but never asked and dirty plates still on table. Decided to pay up and leave ,still table not cleared as we left. What has gone wrong with the service as the food is still good"

"Below expectations The Bybrook at the Manor House is one of those destination restaurants that sound like a great idea for a luxurious, country weekend escape. The grand stone building sits in beautiful parkland and has all the wood panelling, fireplaces and elegant furnishings that you could ever desire. The only problem is, it’s restaurant serves a very ordinary menu, which doesn’t deliver the “unusual flavours and stunning presentation” that they would have you expect; a real shame. Getting off to an unassuring start, Chef Richard Davies presents “duck liver” au torchon, perhaps trying to trick diners who might be squeamish about eating foie gras, into doing just that. A bit odd that he isn’t more up-front with his guests. No matter, as the house-made foie gras is well prepared. It’s coated in a power of dark cocoa to add another dimension to the bistro classic, while an apricot purée provides the tangy sweet element to the dish. What is less convincing is addition of the crunchy"

"Absolutely gorgeous homemade Carvery choice of beef, pork, lamb or turkey you can choose more than 1 veg Yorkshire puds. Puds to die for 9 very clean plates. Cannot be bee ten for value and taste. Definitely worth a visit. We will certainly be back."

"Well I have to say I have eaten in the kings arms on quite a few occasions, but never before for a Sunday roast. The staff are always friendly and the service top notch. We both ordered the combo of pork and lamb Sunday roast. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection and the veg was again perfect not to hard not to soft. What have I been missing. I am a very fussy eater when eating out l, quite critical as I love to cook myself. I will be visiting again on a Sunday and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you all at the Kings arms."

"This is a top class experience. Starting off with. drink in the lovely cozy yet large lounge, you read the tasting menu which like many top class restaurants is the only menu on offer. Allergies and preferences dealt with the food starts with lovely canapes...and charcuterie from the local farm. The experience continues with a visit to the kitchen where we received a very nice welcome from the Head Chef Ricki Weston, an obvious asset to the kitchen, and also three more small dishes. Here begins the realisation of the eastern influences in the dishes. Then through to the nice dining room, with three separate rooms. Our only negative was we thought it was a bit bright and a dimmer would help. Each dish was lovely, clam with trout roe, lovely sourdough, chorizo risotto excellent as were the tortellini and the lobster. I was getting a little full as the beef was delivered but my partner cleaned the plate. Then onto desserts that there is always room for, each of them excellent. Service was both good and friendly, just as we like it. This is a top class place with a top class tasting menu from a top class kitchen"

"So cool, a fully vegan pub! we had the butter tofu curry and it was delicious! for dessert we had the Biscoff cheese cake and the traditional hot chocolate. both so good! the staff was very friendly, we did not book and it was packed, but they found a place for us anyway. we would definitely recommend this place. the best: they support the local, vegan animal sanctuary updated by previous review on 2022-07-30"

"As a tour-guide, running regular trips to nearby Avebury I rang and booked a Sunday lunch for our small party at 10am the day before. No one picked up, and I left a message. When I got there 27 hours later, they claimed theyd tried to ring me to say they were full. Checking my phone they hadnt. The pub was full of people, who, staff claimed, had booked before me. I just dont believe this. We were turned away in the pouring rain, and had extreme difficulty finding a VERY late lunch, Sunday lunch at no notice, during Sunday lunch service. Untrustworthy. I wont be risking this inconvenience and disappointment at this pub with tour groups in the future"
