"Very nice interior and a cosy place but overall we felt the food was bland and overpriced. The venison haunch was a really odd texture and pretty bland plus the potatoes and parsnips accompanying it were not crispy or nicely roasted. The gravy was also quiet bland and the Yorkshires were very thin and lacking in substance like a crispy biscuit. Finally, I ordered a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which came alone with no ice cream, cream or custard which seems very odd I questioned this and asked for a scoop of ice cream which was then added to the bill at £2 which I think is rather tight on their part."

"We were on our way to Highgrove and needed a coffe this fitted the bill very well. Sat inside very close to the garden doors good and attentive service. Coffee was very acceptable and there was a good choice of cakes."

"The restaurant is instantly appealing; well decorated and atmospheric. We were well looked after throughout the meal. Menu is enticing. Had the anti pasti to start, chicken risotto for main and an incredible panna cotta for pudding. The whole meal was faultless. Thank you ! Totally recommended. As a side note it was full on a Monday note a good sign but be mindful to book."

"We have eaten at this pub often before and had a good experience, but our latest meal was very disappointing. The swordfish was ok, but the panzanella salad was ordinary at best the bread was practically inedible it was so chewy. My husband’s burger chips were average no side salad etc. The food alone was £40 a lot for such a mediocre meal lacking in finesse. There are lots of good pubs in the area we’ll go somewhere else next time."
