"In the years between 2006 and 2016, we were once a month in a larger group, namely on the first Sunday, to alternately brew in the old bear dust in Blies Menge-Bolchen or in the Bexbacher Hochwiesmühle. In both cases very good offer at very acceptable prices. Until the Bärenstub was closed to open in a new direction against the Gräfinthaler Hof in Mandelbachtal. No comparison to earlier, but a shortened offer at significantly higher prices. And the Jungfleisch family sold their Hochwiesmühle to spend their retirement in sunny Spain after working life; the juniors didn't want to take over, and so the hotel was sold with the restaurant to an ominous capital company that kept the store. Here, too, prices were clear, while the offer was significantly shrinking. And so our brunch round died of a very bad death. Today my wife and I were invited to the Saarbrücker Best Western Victor ́s Residence Hotel Rodenhof for an Easter brunch. This facility belongs to the Ostermann Empire, which consists of many hotels and even higher residences or old houses; Mr Ostermann is also President of the 1.FC Saarbrücken. We were very excited about what would be expected here. Already at the entrance we were greeted by a whole disturbance of the employees, formally overshadowed with good Easter wishes and led to the area Aspen (very well-known winter sports region in Colorado, USA), where a table was reserved for us. To let it happen: the service was heavy on zack, while the kitchen already weakened. As a starter we were offered a glass of champagne; we were on the table with 6 persons; three wanted champagne and three first mineral water. Then my wife ordered her averna, I took a bright Krombach wheat and later a Mirabelle as a digestive tract. There were also plenty of mineral water Ramazotti, coffee and espresso at the table. When the brunch was opened, our table reads a little more; We didn't want to be there at the first rush to the buffet. But when we suddenly got up, we were not better; a long serpent that struck between 40 and 50 people stood before us. Here the organization has failed completely; If there were several buffets with the same offer as in the Hochwiesmühle, the situation would certainly have been significantly differentiated. However, according to the motto Friss, Vogel, or die, the guests had to stay in the long serpent or first go back to their tables to try again later. Not just that we didn't really like it. If the service manager repeatedly balances their employees in the Kasernenhofton in front of the guests' ears, the eastern good mood is rapidly noticeably sad. What can I say about food? The appetizer was plentiful, the offer of the main dishes was quite manageable with a total of four dishes and the desserts were quite imaginative. My wife found the cattle sniper pretty hard while she liked one of the two fish dishes (not the salmon). I found the filled eggs and ham with asparagus filling very tasty at the appetizers: unfortunately the green pepperoni filled with an acid cream were so hard that I almost punctured my teeth out of it; Al Dente is good, but that was too much. I liked the snowballs. For this, I had put some tranches of the pork fillet in the bacon coat; the very aqueous sauce was intended for it. the fact that such a pig fillet, which was probably very well cooked and quite juicy at the time of lying in the container on the buffet, cannot be avoided; I still liked it even if you had meant something too good in the kitchen with the pepper layer on the bacon coat. The fruit salad chosen by me as a dessert came for me the feeling of the convenience bucket; the profiteroles consumed at the table were quite attractive. If I wanted her, I would have to come back to the long line, and I really had no desire to do that. Conclusion: Even today, the really very busy and good service does not deceive that brunch is really not the pure joy here. The organization of mistakes and weaknesses in the offer do not make the guest absolutely delicious; at least that felt our round. I cannot say anything at the prices; I couldn't see the bill as an invitation. My wife and I as well as our daughter and our son-in-law will always look for further Brunch offers; the Victor ́s could not convince us in terms of the situation and do not come into question again."

"During our visits to Saarbrücken we have always passed Tante Maja. And the restaurant was always well visited. Especially in beautiful weather, there is hardly any space on the St. Johanner market. But somehow I was always sceptical. Why, anyway... no reason to be skeptical. For our visit at the end of March, together with my brother, very convincing cuisine and service. At the later noon the slate board convinced with the current recommendations in the outdoor area. Recommendations on 29.03.18 It was unfortunately too cool to eat outside. Inside we were kindly greeted, but all tables were occupied. The lady at the Tresen said there was room in the upper floor. A step higher received us a young employee and we got a nice place on the window of the 16th. century-old and listed buildings. Upstairs furnishings are friendly, bright and comfortable. Upstairs The old ceiling beams testify to the age of the house. Our drinks were quickly picked up and served. 2 non-alcoholic wheat beer, 0.5 l € 3,90 1 Pils, 0.2 l – € 2,10 Our dishes we chose all three from the table: My husband and I the spring salad with hake fillet and Knobidip € 11,80. And because the pommes at the side table looked so great a serving of pommes € 2.50. My brother the sausage salad with roast potatoes € 9,20. After a pleasant waiting period, our food was transported up and served with the food elevator. The young lady was very friendly and attentive. Generous portions, all plates with Aunt Maja logo. My brother was very satisfied with the well-decorated sausage salad and also with the roast potatoes. Sausage salad with roast potatoes Our deep and large salad plates were abundantly filled with fresh ingredients “cross the garden”, among the leaf salads there was still plenty of raw food. The whole with a good and light dressing. Three hake fillets, juicy roasted, were also generous. Salad with roasted hake fillet There was still fresh bread to the salad plate. The extra pommes were really great and here the (although not homemade) garlic dip also fits very well. The toilets on the upper floor were clean, but had plenty of signs of use. Even ventilation, possibly due to the old house, is not optimal. Since my brother has never been in Saarbrücken and we still want to sneak a bit, we broke up quite soon after the meal. Aunt Maja (a picture of her hanging at the entrance) has convinced us positively at our midday rest. The founder and brothel operator even made it a Wikipedia entry! You're welcome."

"With our visit (relative from Leipzig) we ate again last night in the Fruits de Mer. reservation of our part would not have been necessary this time; we were first the only guests and could choose among the tables as desired, later two older men and one single sprinkler were added. Amazing where it was always good in the evening and without reservation it was as good as nothing. Was the kitchen performance greatly reduced? Should this time be the famous handle in the toilet? Nothing. I found a little annoying that we had an unintentional conversation between the two gentlemen, whether we wanted or not; the guest room is small. Actually, it was rather a monologue; a Lord, with the names of the famous chefs, throws him away. as if he treated her with the family for decades and worked with them every day, went and dressed her to listen, then making a qualified judgement on her performance. I found this hare talk, Saarlanders knows what I'm saying to the cot. In terms of ambience, cleanliness, etc., GG colleagues DerChris, as well as I have sufficiently reported and since then nothing has changed or changed in the meantime, I can save myself further explanations in this context. As always, the service was very attentive, friendly, beaten and at ball height. That my wife, instead of the averna, was first served a Fernet Branca; what? The anti-Vampir drink went back after the mini tasting by my wife and I and Averna came. I really don't come to the service star. Four stars for service, cleanliness and ambience (here it would be nice if the view of the beautiful old doll kitchen with the Smörebröd Smörebröd Römmtömmtömm Koch were not delivered almost completely in it by folded napkins). Drink and food: In addition to a large selection of drinks, there is the usual small yellow card with appetizers and desserts, otherwise only the offers on two slate boards. If this is true for the evening, there is also some printed for the lunch table. We drank Averna (EUR 4,00), wheat beer (EUR 3,50) and Karlsberg Urpils (0,3l EUR 3,00); after the wine no one was today. My cousin chose as an appetizer (or her main dish; she was obviously not hungry today) from the small yellow card grilled salmon on salad (EUR 11,50). Her husband and wife woke up the appetizers; they ordered beef fillet in Roquefort sauce with roast potatoes and puffs (EUR 28,00) and he, also from the slate table, kidneys in mustard sauce with roast potatoes and puffs (EUR 19,00). I would like to have taken as an appetizer from the small yellow card Oeufs Mayonnaise with anchovy for EUR 6,00, a very popular starter in France. But after I knew from previous visits that one covers only three hard-baked egg halves with mayonnaise and covered with a single anchovy strip, I took a distance. I really don't spend six euros. I only chose a dessert (of course from the little yellow): the colonel for EUR 6,00. I ordered the kidneys in the main court. As a small greeting from the kitchen there were two sheaves of oil-covered ham in addition to French white bread; very good. All dishes were very good. The cook was not in love; the pussies (unfortunately no bacon sons) could consume a strong pinch of salt. The beef fillet came as ordered medium and tasted very excellent, the roquefort sauce did not give to the meat flavor, the calves were perfect, the mustard sauce was pikant and the roast potatoes were really nice pink. Laugh and salad also had to hide tastefully. The colonel was as usual: two balls of lemon ice cream, generously flooded with vodka. Price/performance ratio: not always so harmonious, see for example the Oeufs mayonnaise . I get calves in the same kitchen quality in the eagle for EUR 16.80 and also a beef fillet with the same supplements as here for less than EUR 28.00. Nice three and a half stars."
