"The Bao Place in Burnaby is a tiny restaurant that serves home-made steam buns ("bao"). The restaurant opened in September, 2015 and is located across from the Metrotown Mall. The concept is simple. Each day the owner makes everything from scratch; nothing is frozen or re-used. The dough is fluffy and sweet and the filling inside of them are either savoury (pork, bbq, veggie, curry) or sweet (buttermilk, red bean, taro, hot soya). These buns are kept warm in a large stainless steel steamer behind the counter. The buns vary in price from $2.50 to $3.25 each. I had two buns and this satisfied me for lunch. The owner said the recipe is based on traditional Malaysian baos. The restaurant has practically no seating so you will likely have to take-out but the buns are worth it. I hope to return in the future and would definitely recommend that you try it if you are in the area."

"Great food!. I've been here about 4 times and have enjoyed the food each time. This place usually isn't very busy and I can't see why it doesn't get more business! The service was prompt and the food is tasty! Favorite is the cashew chicken."

"It was too hot to cook at home so we had dinner at Swiss Chalet since they are now open for dining in. They seemed to be adhering to the COVID-19 requirements and safety is emphasized with proper protocols in place. The menu items were limited (listed on the single use menu placemat). The young man that served us was very friendly, attentive and courteous. The food arrived quickly, and was hot and delicious! Excellent value if you order the double leg chicken dinner. Definitely will return!"

"Best meat-up place in town. Got the 6-8 person platter and it was definitely enough for 8 hungry adults. Everything was so good. Even the leftovers for the next day. Hard to find authentic smoked meat."

"We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. We always leave feeling full and satisfied. Good price points as the meal consists of a choice of protein, carb, drink and veggie bowl and ice cream for dessert. It's especially satisfying on a...cold fall or winter day but we go year round. There is a small parking lot on the side and also lots of street parking."
