"We sat inside the restaurant, which has a slightly upscale vibe. I was tempted by the selection of pastas, as it is an Italian restaurant but decided a salad would be lighter. It was nice. Rocket, a bit of crisp bacon, and tiny bits of chicken schnitzel. Oh, and some apples. Seems like a solid choice for office workers in the area, with both the healthy salad option and the heavier pastas (or mains)."

"I have been here several times now and ordered a variety of dishes. It's your standard Chinese food but sometimes that's what my friends and I crave. Sweet and sour pork, noodles, wontons, Asian greens etc. No fussing over presentation. Food on a plate."

"Handy outlet if you regularly pass Town Hall/QVB. I love most of the flavours of Doughnut Time donuts, especially the ones that are not overly sweet. My favourites so far are 'Oh my lorde' and the Vegan red velvet. Not really a fan of the 'low gluten' range though (the texture is a bit different than normal donut). Donut price is quite expensive in my opinion."

"Classified an Osteria (which in my limited experience is more of a rustic experience) this restaurant is a little more upmarket - the tier 2 offering of the sister restaurant at the other end of the 2nd floor in the strand arcade. You can go nuts with the menu and rack up a bill very quickly but you can also choose carefully to make it a great night out.I can recommend the pork gnocchi and the fungi risotto which were both great. The merengue cream did not have enough acid (there was only a whisk of the bitter marmalade around the plate to cut through the richness).Wine list is solid even if limited choice by the glass. The Strand is a gorgeous place for a restaurant.I would definitely go again."

"I love this place polished concrete benches, tight but convivial stools, funky library table lights nouveau minimalist chic. The coffee is tops, service slick, and they introduced me to Panela sugar makes everything better."

"The fitout is very appealing. Interesting crockery. Avocado on toast disappointing - it seemed measly. Either plate was too large or quantity too small. Nice coffee. Please don't remove my plate/cup until my dining companion has also finished their meal. Great artwork at other end of the arcade."

"MLC centre dessert time!!! I arrived at the end of the day so all the cronuts were picked over - however - a warm (oozing) caramel donut is by no means a let down. Unfortunately pics are on my camera - but it was amazing!!!"

"If you think Darling Harbour is just filled with tourist trap eateries, you may be right, but Cafe Del Mar is certainly better than most.
The restaurant has a prime location with views across the bay towards the Harbourside Shopping Centre and the dining room is beautifully appointed inside and out.
We tried two mains and one dessert and they all impressed.
The Mediterranean Pulled Pork Ravioli was herbaceous, unctuous, and delicious, with ample amounts of tender pulled pork inside the six large ravioli and as a bed on the plate, making for a generously meaty dish perfect for carnivores. The pasta was lovely and al dente, and the dish as a whole was excellent.
The Riverina Lamb Rump was equally inviting with many layers of flavours and textures (pumpkin puree, charred pumpkin, crispy sweet potato ribbons, spiced salsa verde, rosemary), but the lamb was cooked well done as per request from my dining companion so it's difficult to judge the lamb properly (it was a little dry so it needed the rest of the dish to balance that).
Lastly, the Golden Moon dessert was a fun dish finished at the table with liquid nitrogen and coffee sauce poured over the top. The flavours were very well balanced with the sweet white chocolate dome, mascarpone cream, raspberry jelly, and chocolate crumbs. The only negative was the server's aggressive pouring of the liquid nitrogen from too high a position, making too big of a splash and mess on the table, but that's a minor quibble.
Overall, Cafe Del Mar is a great restaurant in the Darling Harbour precinct that should stick around for a long time."
