"This was one of the cutest restaurants Iâve ever been to in my life. The food was outstanding, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was so cozy. I was in town for business and went to the restaurant solo, and had the most special date night with myself. The wine list is extensive, and the desserts are to die for"

"Stop here for Brunch on our last day visiting the area and so we wish we found this place on the first day!!! We would have been here every day!! Not only the food and the atmosphere amazing, but owner Andrew Followr behind the bar is the best! He made this incredible experience for us. He's creepy! Best food in the area. Best service in the area. Many friendly regular guests came in. They are very warm to the nutritional needs and they do not charge for every little thing. Large wine selection (not one basic grocery brand). Good quality prosecco. The best espresso Martini I've had for a long time. Not too sweet and really good with a pinch of salt. Nothing is frozen. The steak and the eggs of Benedikt were amazing (only available on weekends) and the salmon scrap was so good. If you like spicy, do yourself a favor and order Lupes Salsa with everything. Bacon is thick cut and good quality."

"We have been coming here for years as our 'go to ' dining experience prior to attending performances at the Kauffman Center. Every visit has provided consistently great service! The cocktails are great, the menu is wonderful and the entire meal and experience from beginning to end is one of the best in town!!!"

"Be sure to get there before 6 if you want to participate in happy hour. Not 6:01, but 6. As whiskey drinkers, we try to be aware of pricing on stuff when buying by the 1/2 ounce. So, a 1.5 ounce drink increased to a 2.0 ounce pour should be 1.33 times the price of the 1.5 ounce drink. Expect to pay more. Some bars charge a standard $2 rocks charge, for example. Not this place. Haven 't quite figured out their formula, if they have one. As a customer, if the waiter says I can substitute one vegetable for another, it would help if they also mentioned there would be a $5 upcharge. Total discrepancies were a little over $10. Not a huge deal, but it unnecessarily leaves a bad taste after an otherwise great dinner. Beet salad was absolutely one of the best salads I have ever had. Waitress was pleasant and helpful (other than previously mentioned). Steak, lox, salmon were all excellent. Surprised it wasn 't busier. Diners are missing out on a very (mostly) enjoyable experience."

"The first time in Voltaire and it was great. We had 5 pm reservations on a Saturday and there were only two other groups. The bar was completely open to the future. At 5:30 a.m. the place began to fill. We visited for their 4-6pm happy hour. Great offers on drinks (loved the Paloma). However, food specialities were amazing. The 8 shells were so good and we got a pretty big bowl. The hummus plate was great. The beet and walnut hummus had so much taste. The oysters were also good and an excellent deal for $2 a oyster. We were pretty crowded after the appetizers and had no chance to try one of the ducks. We will definitely try again!"

"A favorite of mine to stop at whenever I?m in KC. The food is great, but the venue itself really elevates the dining experience. There?s both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors you?ll find an inviting, warm, and rustic atmosphere. Outside you?ll find a variety of seating arrangements, lawn games, and probably a dog or two hanging out with their owners. Eating outside definitely has this friendly, block party type vibe I?ve never seen elsewhere. Solid menu and selection of drinks to choose from and the BBQ itself has never disappointed. Will be coming back next time I?m in KC."

"Amazing cocktails, I will be going in for just a drink at some time in the future. Unfortunately I can’t remember the names of the dishes we got but everything was top notch. This is elevated dining for sure. Next time I go I’m going to dress a little nicer…. Also the service was amazing. Don’t go to Waldo Thai if you want the usual pad Thai. Go and try something new. I promise it will be delicious."

"Top of our list right now after a year+ of exploring KC after moving from Houston. We coincidentally met chef Brandon Brumback at a J. Rieger barrel dinner the weekend prior and loved what he did, so it was no surprise that this was a home run.The ambience is fantastic from the moment you walk in the building. The restaurant is cozy and romantic. Staff are friendly and helped with anything we asked for recommendations on.We ordered the beef carpaccio and Caesar salads to start. Both were fantastic, the salad dressing being perfectly balanced with flavorful, crispy yet tender croutons.Half a dozen oysters were next. They were fresh and delicious. I didn’t totally care for the mignonette but I’m super picky about that, I don’t hold it against them.This is the first nice restaurant in KC where I’ve seen a legit cacio e pepe, so I had to order it. It exceeded my expectations and I ate every bit of it.My date ordered the filet and green beans. Both were PERFECTLY cooked and the duck confit is to die for with the beans.Cocktails are a blend of traditional and creative; our favorite ended up being the old fashioned.We opted for the goat cheese cheesecake dessert, which was definitely different but good as a more savory finisher.Take a look around the museum after, it’s a great all in one date spot and you will not be disappointed with the quality. We will be back!"
