"Walking into this hotel is like a trip back in time, but don't be put off by this. It is extremely clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food first class. If you are in Cleethorpes looking for somewhere nice to eat and...not overly priced, this is an excellent choice."

"£340 8 course taster for 2, could fit all the 'samples ' on one plate. The lamb rib was just a line of fat, the miniscule piece of Pidgeon was simply unchewable and not a pleasant experience, the small piece of fish was ok as was the bread, but overall, i am still reeling at the price. My grown up children paid for this as a birthday present, and, to be brutally honest, i would not have paid any more than £40 for the experience. The setting was exceptional, but having tasted dishes from all corners of the world, this was a real let down, but again, £340 plus service charge.........!!!!!!!!!!"

"Sadly despite the food being okay the table service is shocking. We had to wait an age to get a drink quicker to go the bar and get it yourself as I noticed others were doing. Felt like there was no direction in what staff did or how they dealt with each table we waited an age for our mains to arrive and by the time they arrived our plates which were given at least 20 minutes before our food were cold seemed a waste of time going to the bother. All in all as it seems to be the only Chinese restaurant to visit in Scunthorpe it could be run better by a restaurant manager at least don’t think we will be visiting again shame as a couple of the staff were pleasant"

"We had dinner at the Ferryboat Bar and Kitchen last night. This is a very attractive pub, on the riverbank, with lots of outside tables and play equipment for children. However, last night it was far too cold be sit outside so we were glad of the warmth and comfort inside the pub. The restaurant was only half full, but despite this some of our other friends had not been able to secure a booking, having being told that the restaurant was fully booked. I am told that this is not uncommon you would think that most businesses would want to make a profit but this doesn’t seem to apply to the Ferryboat. The food was good, although the chips and battered fish were overcooked and very brown the fish inside was good though. The other meals were all fine we had sirloin steak, lamb koftas and chicken Caesar salad. There is a very limited dessert menu but not many people wanted ‘afters’. Service was ok, maybe slightly slow, and cutlery was forgotten but nothing major. Would we visit again? Probably, as this restaurant is local to us, and the food was mostly good."
