"The Taj Mahal is our local Indian and very lucky we too. Like, the majority of Indians it does serve meat and fish, but the well marked out and extensive list of Vegan Starters, main courses and sides is unusual. Also the staff are extremely clued up about the ingredients of their food and I never fear mistakes might be made. Every trip to the Taj Mahal is enjoyed and relished. It would be wonderful to have a purely vegan restaurant, but in a town like Braintree that will just never happen."

"Visited here Saturday night, only two tables occupied, we were offered a table and quickly given menus and prawn crackers. However we waited and waited for someone to take a drink order, eventually we were asked, on enquiring if they had cider the lady went away supposedly to find out.When she hadn’t returned after some time but we could clearly see her sorting takeaway orders and totally ignoring us we decided to get up and leave and told her our reasons. We offered to pay for prawn crackers we had eaten , she said this wasn’t necessary , Do not believe this is a way to run a restaurant by ignoring your customers . We then went to Eastern aroma and had a lovely experience with very attentive and friendly staff."
