"We're not put off by places that look like this: cheap flourescent lighting, sign falling apart, slightly grubby (but not so bad) floors, cheap interior decor. You know the kind of place I'm talking about. Sometimes they have out-of-this-world food, and it's worth trying these places to find out.A friend recommended Le Lotus Bleu very highly, and said their lamb soup was great. We checked online, and found a very favorable review, so we tried it.They don't serve drinks; you have to go to the convenience store next-door to get anything other than water. They don't bring you water; you get it from one of those big-bottle coolers. I can live with that, if the food is really good.They brought me the wrong thing, but replaced it without hesitation. My pork dish with hot garlic sauce was quite mediocre, with too much cornstarch in it. My wife had the supposedly-awesome lamb soup. I thought it was a nice, mild flavor, but nothing to rave about. She found the 2-foot-long 1-inch-wide noodles difficult to manage, so she had a hard time eating it. She found it just too bland to be really good.Then they accidentally closed the cash register while we were still there, and asked if I could come back to pay tomorrow.I really would not recommend going to this place."

"My boyfriend and I got into Montreal hungry after a long drive and we needed lunch... stumbled upon this place and were BEYOND impressed. It was really cheap for a large smoked salmon sandwich (we split it) and two salad. Portions were good and food...was delicious!!!! Definitely recommend!"
