"I work in one of the offices above Agave and have been a customer since it opened. My coworkers and I were religious about eating there every Tuesday. Most weeks of the year we were there twice a week. We now eat there maybe twice a month out of convenience. I love the food and margaritas, but the service is the most inconsistent in Vermont. This is not the fault of the ever-changing staff or managers. I blame the owners; the Handy's (assumed). Grazers has also been inconsistent, and I believe it shares ownership. While both Agave and Grazers have suffered since the pandemic, things were becoming noticeably less consistent before 2020. I also frequent Mcgillicuddy's, just down the walkway. You can count on the food, staff, and temperature in the restaurant to be the same every visit. Now my coworkers and I are spending a lot more lunch time there. All we ask is for management to pay attention, speak to some patrons, and find a way to make Agave more consistent. I would love to give you more of my money again! "Bulgoki: Beef seemed boiled and old; only tasted of sesame oil and nothing else. Broccoli merely lightly steamed and flavorless. No sauce. Chap Chae: unbearably sweet and barely any sweet potato glass noodle or flavor aside from acidic sweetness Egg roll: primarily just dough, flavorless Summer roll: wrapping was so poorly done, loose and excessive, and no flavor inside. Even the rice paper wrap had a weird flavor. It's not supposed to have any kind of strong taste. Teeny tiny shrimp, that's ok. Dipping sauce helped all dishes. Pineapple chicken fried rice: canned pineapple? Really? Also way too sweet! Where is all the sweetness overload coming from? I have NEVER been a person to waste food, but I am not even bothering to try to doctor any of this. Composted. Done for. No thanks. Will never return. Truly wonder what flavor pallettes these positive reviewers have and how they got so bland and lame."
