"Close to the hotel. Prices seem high but used an nhs app to get a discount (as I work for the nhs). Popcorn was too salty and seats where tight and legroom limited. Overall a nice cinema with friendly staff."

"I am aware that our geographic survey in all edinburgh is not entirely what it could be and will be from where we tend to spend most of our time. So when there was an opportunity to lunch in polwarth, I jumped by chance. for the first time the queen vicky had suggested the piecebox that sounded good to me. I had visited one because the nearby odds ends, and I heard good dinge about streat hawker in the polwarth tavern, but that is otherwise quite unexplored territory for me."

"Our daughter who is a frontline Healthcare worker in Edinburgh is currently off work due to illness. We are in Ireland and are unable to take care of her. Friends of hers in Australia made contact with THE BLUEBIRD CAFE in Edinburgh and ordered the...most wonderful brownies and scones and they also sent a caring note which was personally delivered to our daughter’s apartment by a wonderful lady from THE BLUEBIRD CAFE. Our daughter was stunned with this wonderful surprise and gesture and it was an emotional morning for her. This caring thought and service gave her a huge boost in her time of need. We are extremely grateful to know that a business will still go such a long way in the current climate to bring hope and help to some one who needed a little care and support during their time of need. Well done and a big thank you to BLUEBIRD CAFE."

"I like the way they have used wooden pallets for furniture décor (hence the name). Staff were very friendly, service was good even though they were busy. Good selection of fries, sandwiches muffins, and the coffee was decent too."

"Went here for a meal last night the steak fajitas were amazing best ive ever had, but unfortunately my partners meal was not so good he had the mixed grill most things on it was good but the beef and the pork the expensive...bit of the meal was not so good) when I told the waitress she apologised and told me she would let the chef know both items were tasteless as I also tried them. When receiving on bill we kinda hoped that theywould knock a little off bit not . Sucj a shame is my meal was really good my partner even told the waitress we would not be back but didnt seem to bother her ."

"I have been here once before for a drink, this was the 1st time coming along for food. Visited on a Sunday evening looking for a roast dinner. Was delighted to find they still had some roast beef left at 6pm. A lot of places can sell out by then. What can I say, the roast was just top notch! A mouth watering, hefty chunk of beef that melts in your mouth, delicious rich gravy flavoured with thyme, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, some green beans and carrot batons. Overall I was very impressed. If I had one minor criticism, it was the portion of roast potatoes was a bit tight. Being one of the cheaper components on the plate I would expect twice as much roasties. This is just nit picking though. I believe the roast cost under £13 which really is great value. We had a craving for roast, this absolutely hit the spot. We will certainly be back very soon!"
