"What I liked about Afuri is that they’ve got something for everyone. We had a vegetarian colleague and even he could find something to order and did not have to sit and watch us eat. Coming to their ramen, I can’t comment if it’s one of the best in Tokyo, but I definitely liked theirs and you can also see them make all of it right in front of you."

"This place is a quick walk from Tachikawa station. Serves mostly vegan dishes (owner will let you know which have dairy or egg), but again the menu was predominately vegan. We came for lunch with a sometimes slightly unruly 4 year old and the owner was friendly, understanding and served our food with a smile. Oh and the vegan dishes we had were tasty and hit the spot. Definitely recommend if you are in the area! unfortunately the address of this restaurant is not “Tachikawa” so it does not come up on Happy Cow when searching for vegan places in “Tachikawa”… but it is an ~8 minute walk from Tachikawa station. Updated from previous review on 2022-11-13"

"Really cozy placy with warm, tasty and complete food and some other items. Life saving for a lunch before visiting Himeji Castle. The shop part is not completely vegan, so be careful."

"The owner Ravi is South Indian and is friendly and understands vegan, lacto-vegetarian etc and knows definitively the ingredients in everything on the menu. I am lacto-vegetarian, as are most Indians, so it was easy to accommodate that but they can do a full thali/set course with just vegan items. The dosa was good and fresh, as was the chai and the soup and all the items. I got vegetable samosas to go. The owner assured us that fried items are died separately from meat items, including deep fryer is separate for vegetarian items. Second floor walk up in narrow space between other shops. Look for sign."

"We only stopped at the takeout counter, so I can’t comment on the food or atmosphere of the restaurant itself. The takeout baos, though, were very good! The vegan options were clearly labeled with several flavors to choose from. They are MASSIVE, so don’t attempt one alone unless you’re quite hungry! Not all flavors were available hot, but the ones that weren’t could be purchased cold for takeaway. Even though I ordered the red bean and date bun, I was given the pork bun by mistake. Luckily I quickly noticed, pointed it out, and the man apologetically switched it out. It seemed like an honest mistake on his/the kitchen’s part, but double check your baos before biting in!"
