"A visit to the Cologne Fair in Deutz took place. I would like to strengthen myself in the vicinity even soon, before I get into the exhibition. But where? I appreciate the recommendations of Helmut Gote; but his book dates back to 2013 and what else is it? His recommendation for the Rheinufer: “Glashaus” in Hyatt. There is the best panoramic view of the old town of Cologne – and also good food. But the then chef is no longer at the stove. The successor of Mr. Gote as a restaurant tester at the Kölner Stadtanzeiger is Carsten Henn. He was only on the spot in January 2016: his conclusion is partly devastating – „Schöner Panorama in Cologne does not go. Then you don’t look so often on the plate.” Actually, he just liked the dessert. I just have basic concerns about restaurants in big hotels: There are many examples with star kitchen, but even more with moderate facilities. Many guests meet there and then eat in the same house. This does not necessarily require a kitchen. The Hyatt has closed its best restaurant at the time (Graugans already in 2009 due to too little appeal. The “glasshouse” should close the gap and enjoy the guests in a similar way. At lunch there are other dishes than in the evening on the map. There is a lunch ticket, among other things, Sushi (that's all well explained on the homepage). Let's see what impression I get. Dom, Bridge I reserve a place by phone and will see how it works. Hopefully the weather is good, then definitely the panorama (because this is praised everywhere. Ambience Unfortunately there was rain on this day and the Rhine and the old town seemed gray and dark. But the hotel can't do that. The view is appealing. The tables and chairs are black and this looks noble. On the table is a gray runner, also well chosen. The thick opaque elements that hold the glass interrupt the view of the panorama for me something. The unreal plants as decoration I find something inappropriate, but they fit well to the picture. Since the room is open to the rest of the hotel, fragrances come from the kitchen or the buffet of the guests, who probably meet here in large numbers, to the restaurant. Cleanliness The house seemed to me basically well maintained. But for me there were light smears because the cutlery didn’t look really clean on me (water stains and on a spoon was still a small “green” rest (no herbal stem). The service naturally replaced the part. The friendly waitress led me to the toilet area because it was a bit off the restaurant complex. Behind the door was a spacious area. But everything is quite simple in the facility for me, but expedient and clean. Since all day guests and seminar visitors go, the wash basin area was not well maintained. Washroom The paper towels lay around everywhere and the two containers crawl over. Service Several young ladies and gentlemen work here. All friendly and helpful. I took off the coat and supplied it. Then I was brought to the table – I had a good look at the cathedral. I was offered a magazine for the waiting period. The dishes were served quickly. My wishes were asked and met immediately. Beverages have not been forgotten. There were no wishes left. The map(s lunch and day ticket); Evening card, Sushi, Wine card The tasting food I choose the menu in three courses: BUSINESS LUNCH 11.30 to 14.30 pm (2 COUNTS PRO PERSON € 27,00 and 3 COUNTS PRO PERSON € 33,00 From the four appetizers I chose: SUSHI STARTER: NIGIRI, MAKI, INSIDE OUT ROLL I am now (not yet the designated). It was fine for me, but not overwhelming in taste. The Maki were filled with fish (I think salmon and tuna. The Nigiri were also prepared with salmon and tuna. The inside out rollers were made with different vegetables and made in two ways. I once read that the cook already seasons the rolls and hardly needs soy sauce. That didn't happen to me today. Sushi Bread was also served. The selection consisted of three varieties and the slices were heated; a little dry. There was also a small slice of slightly salted butter (yet well cooled and not spreadable and olive oil. I'd like to have some of them fed. From the four main courses I took: FILET „MIGNON“, ANNABELLE KARTOFFELSTAMPF, ROTE BETE TÜRMCHEN, THYMIANJUS The plate looked delicious and met my expectations. The meat was perfectly grilled. The three thin bows were even pink in the middle. I have to praise that. The taste was pleasantly rounded with some salt crystals. The potato marsh was also well made with butter and herbs and enjoyed my palate. Red Bete, Stampf, Filet The sauce had a matching consistency and wounded to the meat quite well. Unfortunately, they later testify to me (at the fair relatively great thirst in the mouth and the palate area. But at the table she was right as a companion. The Red Bete pieces were fine (not soft, but little aromatic. At the dessert (three sweets and once cheese I chose KOKOSCRÈME BRÖLÉE, MANGOKOMPOTT, SCHOKOLADENEIS. Ice and mango The cream Brulee was well prepared and the crust was nicely pink. In the other vessel the ice and the compote split their place. The chocolate ice cream had small crispy pieces inside that raised the dish for me. The compote was compote; So all right, but I couldn't score. Beverages Open wines start at 8.00 euros per glass. My choice fell spontaneously on Kölsch (Sion Kölsch in 0.2 l – 2.80 €; this also takes place in Cologne. Sion Kölsch, bread, oil, soy sauce The espresso (Macchiato – 3,50 € had light red stars and was not particularly intense in taste (I like it a little more – but quite fine. Price performance ratio The price was reasonable for three courses. Beer and coffee are not too expensive. I forgot wine. Conclusion 3 – if it results. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 19.02.2016 – Lunch – a person"

"With the variety of interesting gastronomic concepts, especially in a city like Cologne, keeping an overview is not easy. I am all the more grateful if acquaintances on whose verdict I give something express a clear recommendation. Otherwise, we would probably not have been aware of this small, quite inconspicuous place at Barbarossaplatz, which from the outside looks more like one of the many, any Asian ski resorts with numerous photos of the dishes on the house wall. In addition, there is a somewhat bulky name that you might have taken over. But from “Lai de Hao by JuJu Lu” only “JuJu Lu Asian Tapas” has become. And that's how the concept is already well described. However, with the addition “Progressive Asian Food” the whole also gets a more demanding touch, interior Theke, which is also emphasized by the stations of the young chef Zhengchen Lu in such cooking sizes as Paul Pairet “Ultraviolet”, Shanghai, Jean-Georges Vongerichten or Thomas Bühner “La Vie”, Osnabrück) on the homepage. But we are already aware that it is not about fine dining, but an uncomplicated concept that follows the trend towards sharing dressing and that Asian dishes come to the table in small to medium portions. The prices for this are just under 5 – 8 euros on average not different than favourable. Our first visit led us to lunch on a Saturday. In the meantime, however, only the evenings have been opened. The second visit took place in September. At both visits the kitchen greets with baked various pasta and sesame dip. The fat, but well seasoned pastries are a nice start and the dip is fun. Even if you order all dishes at once and are theoretically also served at the same time, the kitchen can be time and sends the individual plates only gradually. This has its good reason, because this is carefully tasted and everything is naturally freshly prepared, is already felt at carrot salad. The one passes through a citrus orange aroma, herbs and sprouts are only very punctually used and support the mild character in a pleasant way. Carrot salad A fat exclamation mark put the Wantons Szechuan Art filled with pork chop. I have rarely eaten a more fluffy, silky dough, just fantastic! If the filling is already very aromatic, the chilisauce becomes more than just to its announced “spicy” attribute. Wantons Szechuan Art Spicy, although not quite as sharp, also comes the lukewarm pie on the table, which is especially pimped with kernels and nuts. Very nice. Spicy Spicy Chicken I recommend the Zander with spice crust that is served less with a crust than with a spice layer on the skin. There is a mild, but full mushroom broth that is almost nutty and buttrig tasted, as well as fine sliced inserts of egg stitch and vegetables, Pak Choi and quite coarse, hard tomato pieces. Since this is more of a kind of stew with well-sized fish pieces added to me, the expectation, even with regard to the announced spice crust, was perhaps simply another. I don't believe it. Zanderfilet Significantly closer to a Chinese taste picture is then the delicious beef in a distinctive but not sharp tomato oyster sauce. The meat is super delicate and the few, but well selected crisp vegetables leave enough room to the main actor. The octopus comes to the table very puristically. Two pulpo arms, well spiced and very delicate, come together with a very retention of aioli and a herbal cream. Octopus Laqué Aioli The consistency of the bun could be somewhat firmer. The dough piece is quite fluffy, but also slightly crumbles, so it can hardly be eaten with the hands. For this, the filling of swollen pork, fresh and pickled vegetables, hoisin sauce and sesame is all the more convincing. Pork Bun From the category of slightly larger dishes comes also the thick pork rib, which is exactly swollen butterfly and this time is actually covered with a spice crust. Chimichurri and a tomato sauce add the meat in a spicy way. The potatoes seem almost like a typical German saturation supplement and would not have used it for me at all, but they do not bother. Thick pork rib from the region Tomato sauce Chimichurri Although I am already well saturated, I also drink from the plate of my accompaniment during the second visit. I also like the mapo tofu. The bean sauce releases its moderate sharpness only aftertaste, but then with the Szechuan pepper very pointed. I like Tofu very well. Mapo Tofu Szechuan Pepper sharp bean sauce During both visits, the “JuJu Lu” has delivered a very good performance and kitchen, which is positioned far away from duck sweet-sour. Here is very carefully cooked and spiced. It is certainly intended that European influences can also be seen in this case. Now you should not expect the history of Asian cuisine to be rewritten here, but the small dishes are all fun and some dishes, such as the Wantons, the pork, the Tofu and anyway all vegetable dishes are already above average for a restaurant in this price class. The service is always friendly and with explanations on the side. Of course, in addition to teas, there are also Chinese beers to choose from, but its claim to offer high quality here is proven with a proper selection of craft beers and a respectable, accurately priced wine card. So clear recommendation for those who have fun in the sharing concept with more unusual but always mass-compatible Asian dishes. The favourable prices also give you pleasure.
