"We went to “Restaurante do Zezinho” on a Monday when most of the other restaurants are closed. Having stood in front of many closed restaurant doors that Monday evening we were happy to stumble over this restaurant. The interior decoration is simple and the place is clean; nothing fancy. Rather empty, apparently only lost tourists eat out on Monday.We were well received and enjoyed a decent meal at a decent price (34€ for 2 including a bottle of local wine). We discovered a specialty of the Alentejo called “tomatada”: tomatoes, bread and egg mixed to form a thick sauce. Very good. My wife said she would copy that back home.On a Monday let’s all go there…"

"Went to the restaurant only to eat their famous octopus, which I had had back in the summer of 2015 (even made a review here saying that it was the best octopus I had ever had). We were given a table and the waiter brought the menu. I looked for the octopus in the portuguese part of it but it was written pota (giant squid, which is way cheaper than octopus) instead of octopus. I was really disappointed, but started to look for something else to eat. To my surprise, in the english part of the menu it was written octopus and in the spanish part it was written pulpo. I asked the waiter if it was really pota or if it was octopus, like it was written for the foreign menu and he said it was pota. We left at that very moment and went to eat at a very good japanese/chinese restaurant down the street."

"We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. We wandered in, not knowing what to expect. The food was delicious, we had the soup of the day and shared lamb chops and the ragu between four of us. Meat was very tender and tasty! "Easy parking. Lots of space to seat. Service is simple, with family workers. Season food from Alentejo and good spanish jamon and black pig grilled meat. The best way to arrive in Portugal when you came from Spain. The best way to say good by when you are near the boarder before leaving Portugal. Diferent menu 's everyday."
