"We attended here last week and have frequented the establishment multiple times over the past few years however I understand it is now under new management. We tried a few different dishes but the stand out for me was the sea bass it was cooked...delightfully and tasted amazing! New management has clearly helped the restaurant as it was better than ever. Not like it needed much improvement mind!"

"We come now and then, since we moved on this wisely, and it took a good time to recognize the owner is our neighbour. good selection of food and quality is pointed notch. we really enjoy the breakfast butties and only when they think it is time to behave, they discover the blondies that are highly recommended."

"We booked to stay at this B&B as we were spending the weekend with friends who live in the village. We were driving up from the south and did call in advance to inform we would be late as traffic was bad. We were told it was no problem, but if we were to be later than 10:30pm then call again and they would inform us of where we needed to go. We did eventually arrive at 10:15pm so after a very long and tiring journey, all we wanted to do was relax. We ran the doorbell twice and no reply. We walked around the property to see if there was another entrance and didn 't find anything. I decided to call the number on the phone to see if I could get any luck that way. I could hear the phone ringing from outside, but still no answer. As it was a cold evening we got back in the car to think of another way we could get in! Finally we saw someone in the window who was coming down to turn off all the lights and lock up for the night. We ran to the door and rang the bell and knocked, but still no one answered. I tried the phone again and finally got to speak with someone. The host opened the door and his words were 'Your room is up the stairs on the right ' that was it!!!! Didn 't ask our names, give us any information on the B&B, where to go in the morning, didn 't even give us a key to our room!!!! Completely shocked, but just so tired we made our way to the room. We walked into our room to then see that the place really wasn 't what we expected. It was dusty and not very clean, the place stank of dogs. The bin in the bathroom hadn 't been emptied and it 's continence was very unpleasant! There was no soap to wash your hands with after going to the toilet. The bed was so old and any time you moved it would creak beyond belief. Needless to say we had no sleep! Very weary with no sleep whatsoever we came down to breakfast, we found the key to our room, it had been placed in the lock between us arriving and coming down the following morning. No one was around for breakfast and after waiting at the bottom of the stairs for 10 minutes we had to wonder into the private lounge adjacent to the kitchen before someone saw to us. I will say the breakfast was good but no questions from the host about how our stay was. We were staying 2 nights and as it was bank holiday weekend there wasn 't anywhere else locally to stay so we had to stay another night. When we arrived back from our party on the second night, we let ourselves in to be greeted by two intimidating dogs barking at our feet. Luckily I am not afraid of dogs, but my husband is and he would not walk through the door until I had managed to push the dog to one side with my leg so he could get passed. The following morning we were checking out, there was no question asked how our stay was. They just took the payment and that was it. If we hadn 't been so exhausted with 5 hours of travelling and 2 nights with no sleep we would have said something but all we wanted to do was get out of there! We certainly will not be staying here again when we come to visit friends, such a shame as it is in walking distance for us."

"Been a customer for over a year now and really enjoy my visits. I can highly recommend any and all the food hot or cold. my current favourite is sausage egg and mushroom with red sauce and pepper. Mandy the owner is great and really...makes you feel welcome. loads of parking onsite and is right on Lancaster road behind the icecream parlour. see you next time mandy"
