"Popped in on Fri night whilst in Cumbria for night. Food was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed itI had a Greek sausage starter and pie for mains; my wife had pork souvlaki for mains and mushroom bruscetta for starter. Only two things Id comment on negatively was decor. I wlaked into an old fashioned country pub expecting exactly that and was met with an interior that reminded me of me old univ refectory from the dim n distant past Whilst the service was very good (quick and friendly), it gets on my nerves to be told by the server how wonderful my food looks. I can decide that meself. Other than those two very personal and nit-picky moans, we had a fab meal and would thoroughly recommend"

"We visited the Bridge End Inn for lunch, plenty of seating to choose from both inside and out. Warm welcome and good service throughout our meal. We ordered the chicken burger, ploughman's, chicken skewers (starter) with a side of chips and the Thai green curry which was the curry of the week. The lunchtime menu had plenty to offer with all the usual favourites. We enjoyed the chicken skewers and the chicken burger both of which went down well. I only gave four stars out of five as the Thai curry was a little lacking in flavour and as a personal preference would have preferred a few less crackers for a chunk of crusty bread with the ploughman's which was very substantial with a good selection of cheeses."

"The food in this place was lovely, I had the burger which i would recommend completely and my friend enjoyed a steak with the red wine sauce which in his words was one of the best steaks hes ever had . Honestly the food was amazing, compliments to the chef indeed! On a side note the service was rather slow considering it wasn 't very busy when we arrived. We booked a table in advance being a Saturday) and was asked to come in for 7pm as they had a large table reservation, not a problem! However they large group arrived at 7:30pm Naturally not something the restaurant could predict, understandable) However the whole party received their Starters after arriving and ordering after us) before we received our mains. The food was worth the wait, that I cannot complain about however what described above put us off ordering deserts in the end. I honestly cannot compliment the food enough, was just a little disappointed with the order of service. With all that said, do drop in to Bistro 34 if you are not in a rush, it really is worth it for the food!"

"On the Square so parking easily found. Obviously a work in progress (found out later they were new owners). Staff excellent, polite and attentive. Reasonable menu, pub grub at reasonable price! Ordered Scampi and chips, good sized portions, hot and tasty. Would have no hesitation returning again when the pub is a bit further along in the renovation, and we are visiting again."
