"My sons decided to treat me to an evening of cocktails. We were greeted by a pretty surly guy at the door who asked my son to present ID which is fair enough but despite it being in a transparent casing, he insisted he removed...it. I was in old town again yesterday early evening and my friend wanted to go in the Bank...this same guy (bald) was on the door and this time refused entry saying they dont accept walk in customers...whether true or not, he has a really poor attitude. Back to last week....we were seated at minutes someone came to take the order with first drinks arriving at minute wait in total. The place is staffed by young people who had a nice friendly attitude but seemed to operate in a system of chaos. While we were waiting for drink at least other staff asked if we wanted to order or were waiting. Wait times continued to be long. As the evening wore on there were other basic issues...for the pornstar martinis they ran out of shot glasses for the prosecco, the espresso martinis tasted of a mixer and ended up being served in gin bowl glasses meaning the froth head completely disappeared. The bill was very high in terms of the service issues and drinks quality."

"One of the few places in swindon you can eat barbecue style. very happy with the portions and the quality of eating. the service was in order, though sometimes somewhat slow. bark brisket and pulled pork are excellent, and the philly cheesesteak is very nice. if they are after a challenge, the hahn from meat plate is a animal. make sure they have an appetit before the order!"

"Popped in today for the Friday special of fish and chips. The pub had a super atmosphere and offered a warm and hearty glow by the real coal fire. The dining room, is comfortable and the food plentiful. Many today were enjoying the Christmas special menu. Really lovely, hot, freshly cooked traditional fayre. A super team, lead by Cathy and John, you're guaranteed great service, a friendly welcome and super home cooked food. A real traditional country pub, right here in Upper Stratton. Conveniently located near to all main commuter routes and serviced by a reliable local bus service. We often pop in for the lunch time specials or lovely traditional Sunday lunches! The pub has a vibrant buzz with live music, many sports teams too. If you haven't already, you'll soon find you're be part of the furniture!"
