"When driving the 10 freeway, you 'll find a row of restaurants called Restaurant Row. You 'll recognize many of the names, chances are Mariposa Inn will NOT be one of them. 1. The menu. In thirty years eating at the Mariposa, the menu hasn 't changed, for one good reason. It never had to! Unlike the other big chain restaurants which are looking for the next greatest thing in cooking, the staff at the Mariposa Inn is kicking back, focusing their energy on good cooking, not fixing the maquina that doesn 't need to be fixed in the 1st place. 2. The combos. In the middle of said Mariposa Inn menu, you 'll find the tried and true combos. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, chili rellenos, tamales. You want it, it 's there w/ rice beans. Whether u get that or something else on the menu, it 's served up quick. In the meantime, you get chips that are warm salty, the best tasting salsa I 've had in any Mexican restaurant. 3. The atmosphere. If u eat there during the daytime, the daylight lights up the front of the restaurant nicely, but if you want a truly remarkable dining experience, try the Mariposa Inn at night. It won 't be as well lit as other places, but it will be lit up just enough for you to feel like you 've really found a unique place to eat. The tables, chairs, booths have an older architectural feel to them, when you look up at the old style iron chandeliers, you 'll definitely feel like you went back in time a bit. Karaoke seen is the best Tues, Thur, Sat 8pm 1am"

"I love this place. Best bionicos around! Fruit is fresh. Shrimp burritos are delicious and actually filled with shrimp. Make sure you ask them to put the special sauce inside the burrito and not served on the side. Unless you want it on the side. My family really likes the menudo. We also like to order a tray of birria for family gatherings, when we don't want to cook. I'm sure there are some misses for some people, but so far, I haven't had one and recommend you give it a try. You might like it."

"Came here for lunch with my coworker and I really enjoyed the service and the food. They offered us the special of Albondigas but I had the 3 enchiladas (pollo) combo plate (I had albondigas at home) and it was really good. My coworker had the chile relleno combo plate. The plate came with beans, rice, and a salad. The entire plate was delicious and the owner/staff was really attentive and nice throughout our visit. I will definitely be back with either my sister or boyfriend. Plus, they make tamales! Great new find in our area!"

"There are few restaurants open on Christmas day. We were lucky to make reservations at this El Torito. We were seated promptly, the wait staff was very pleasant and professional and the food was great. We were all pleased with the meal and the service."
