"Visited Manchester on a very busy Bank Holiday and struggled to find an eating establishment without very long waiting times . Then we found Cafe Metro and the place was practically empty. Alarm bells should've been ringing at that point! Ordered a grilled chicken ciabbata sandwich and a Minute Steak with mushroom and fries. A pot of tea for 1 and a Latte which is advertised as Lavazza. I drink a lot of coffee and my latte was truly awful in every conceivable way and most certainly NOT Lavazza. To say the place was empty,we waited an awfully long time for our food. There was another couple seated near us....2 obnoxious women who spent the whole time arguing and swearing at each other while one of them kept using the serviettes to stem the blood from her recently fitted belly button piercing. The dining area is depressing and dimly lit.Very tired and dated decor and absolutely zero ambience. When the food finally got served, my partner thought the chicken sandwich was OK but had a distinct taste of the oil it had been cooked in. My plate of food was really quite dreadful. Bland Oven chips,tasteless sautéed mushrooms and the worst steak I've been presented with for many a year.Fatty, full of gristle and overcooked to the point where it was almost impossible to cut. Total bill came to £23 which I felt was poor value for money and we will definitely not revisit anytime soon."

"Really nice little cafe decent size full English breakfast at good value for money dose get busy but still a nice treat Parking: Due to how busy this cafe is there is very little parking and you have to park on the side street which might impact the local residents. "I am a regular at this cafe as i live in the city centre, and i usually have the full English breakfast .... it 's a basic, busy city centre cafe serving basic food, no fuss, no frills , which suits me down to the ground .... it 's the type of place that you could go in on your own, and you don 't feel awkward, all kinds of people use it including construction workers, shoppers and families , old and young ..... the staff are always helpful ...... my only small 'gripe ', is that the food can sometimes be a bit on the lukewarm side, but a mention to the staff and they will quickly amend it ..... the place never seems to be short of customers, either eating in, or taking away, and has stood the test of time, which probably speaks volumes for it."

"Love this place. I normally come for breakfast but lately I've been getting lunches as well. Can't believe I've never really done it before as they're fabulous. I particularly love their chilli. It's done how chilli should be, with a bit of a kick. They've also been doing my lunch every Friday after I've had my breakfast there. Sandwiches are fabulous too. Great food, great service. Cannot go wrong."

"We found this place by accident so glad we did! Such a lovely friendly welcome, it was a nice evening we sat outside. Delicious reasonable set menu we wish we could have managed dessert! Mushroom starters were so big! The pizza was lovely the sea bass melted in your mouth. Highly recommended thank you!"
