"We were lucky to stay across the street from shine cafe, so we were able to get in as soon as it opened. great food, and i loved that they had just eggs for an egg substitute. a wonderful place to grab breakfast/brunch!"

"My first coffee at the Cherries Breakfast Bistro and a walk in the Panama Flats made me decide to move into this neighbourhood. I loved the ambience, the hospitality and the warmth that the owner and the staff radiated. After moving into my new apartment,I visited this Bistro often for brunch and coffee. I worked on my research, read books and wrote my diary all while enjoying asip of coffee and a tasty bite. My favourites include tofu sandwich and Florentine. The staff is always welcoming and friendly,which brings a smile to your face and you always want to come back. These are lovely people serving delicious food in a homeyatmosphere."

"Love the Village and the staff there. Only giving it 2 stars for service ONLY because their reservation service is poor to virtually non-existent. No on-line reservation. One can only phone. BUT, they rarely if ever answer the phone and, if you do manage to leave a voice mail message, it is not returned."

"The choice brunch joint in downtown Victoria! On our way for a South West Island retreat on a Thursday, we made a stop at the Ruby on Johnson around 10am and despite a brief line, were seated within 10 minutes (party of 2). We were immediately enthralled with the quaint and comfortable homestyle aesthetic and CCR album playing over vinyl. The food and service was even better! Our server, Lauren, served us the Mexican Eggs Benedict and the Traditional Eggs Benedict (with gluten free modifications). Food was absolutely delicious and downright filling. We'll certainly be back for round 2!"

"Come to cocktails and appy's. Order two martinis, hot and acid soup small and the pork potstickers. Cost about $50 and it wasn't worth the money. Not that everything was bad, but I could go next to the keg and enjoy a...big steak dinner for this price."
