"Had lunch here today and it was outstanding. Met the lovely pub dog, didn’t feed him. Can’t believe someone would complain about being asked not to. The food here is delicious and they serve a very crisp Sauvignon Blanc. Welcoming friendly staff and a charming...landlady. Superb!"

"Never had a bad meal from here. In the last 3 years I have used this chippie ive never had a single bone in any of the fish. Plus, the fish is skinless. Good prices, great food no wonder i have sometimes queued outside the door!"

"We live locally and visit Merlin’s Cave fairly regularly, for coffee tea or lunch. Since the extensive refurbishment programme was completed, the restaurant environment is smart, spacious, comfortable and relaxed. Until a couple of months ago, whilst the food was consistently good, the service was generally slow and not always welcoming. However, it is great to see that this appears to have improved dramatically on our most recent visits. This time we went for lunch and were served by Ethan, who was friendly, prompt and very efficient in every aspect of helping us. Once again the food was really good, with a reasonably priced and varied menu available. Clearly the management have addressed the previous issues well and we would not hesitate to recommend Merlin’s Cave."

"The worst Sunday roast I have ever had, the beef didn’t look anything like beef (light brown in colour). The Yorkshire pudding tasted like paper, the roast potatoes needed a chisel to cut. Needed steel teeth to eat them. Parsnips were burnt , tasteless. The gravy was the only thing that looked half decent, and guess what NO TASTE. BTW , THINK YOU ARE EXPECTED TO EAT WITN YOUR HANDS, AND WIPE YOUR HANDS ON YOUR CLOTHES. RANT OVER"

"We ordered roast beef the dinner was ok apart from more fat then beef, we brought this to the attention of the waitress who just smiled , they then got the bill wrong , we then waited ages to pay, however I have rung on several occasions regarding this issue and I have been advised I we will receive a voucher I’m still waiting Not impressed"
