"We ate here based on some locals recommendations. The food was very good but pricey for a quasi-pub atmosphere. The menu was very, very limited with just 5 options. Make sure you order the prime rib sandwich - yummy!"

"Since we returned to North Bay, we've been disappointed in the absence of a good source of fish and chips. We decided to give Ivan's a try, even though it's not a fish specialty spot.Tonight, Ivan's won the fish and chip prize. The fish was perfectly cooked and tender. The serving size was generous and the price was reasonable. The dish was better than a nearby fish restaurant and it offered better value.Service is a bit different at Ivan's. You line up to place your order and get an identifying number to place on your table. When your meal is ready, it's delivered to you. The system works well, but there's a odd element to it. Since no individual wait person is directly responsible for a particular zone in the restaurant, four different servers cruised by to ask how everything was. Yes, it's nice to have someone check to make sure that everything was all right, but when it comes in multiples, it begins to get tedious.Other than "Is it okay, okay, okay, okay" the experience was good and we will return."

"Just had lunch at this establishment with work friends. To say it was dissappointing would be a gross understatement! Meals were served one plate at a time, with the last one finally coming out 1 1/2 hours after the first person was served. I ordered the Thai chicken stir fry. Burnt red and green peppers on a bed of overcooked noodles with dry hard strips of burnt chicken....and NO seasoning....thai or otherwise. Service and food were so bad the manager covered everyones bill....and we were 15 people! Plus the place was freezing cold....even with a jacket on. Never ever going back there."

"On recent visit went to try this place out....what a mistake. The waitress took our drink orders shortly after we were seated. and when drinks arrived we ordered our meals. Then we sat for 1 1/2 hours with nothing. She never returned to the table....She never even offered a second drink!! Not even an attempt to explain the ridiculous delay. We went to the bar and told the man there of our dissatisfaction and were told he was sure she would return soon....really!! The restaurant was not full at the time. We advised him that if there was not service of some sort in 15 minutes we would leave.No reponse. So in 15 minutes we went back to the bar and paid for the drinks and left. As we were leaving the waitress approached us to say the food would be out soon...we told her that we had been more than patient and no longer cared to stay...we left. Cant rate the food because we never had anything to eat there...not even a piece of bread or a bun !!But I can tell you this.....you will not get service there . The staff are not capable of service. word to the wise.....if you feel you must go there....have a snack before you go...it will be many hours before you see food in this place"
