"I booked here, never before, but the reviews were very good. this pub is falling down and somewhere you wouldn't just stop and call, but they must. once in the decor and atmosphere is warm and friendly. the personal is excellent and the eating excellent. it is also dog-friendly in a cozy environment. reviews are just something I only write when I feel that a place is worthy. we will come back and thank them for a visit."

"Was only at gaskell fish chips (running horses) @156 st james’s road, orrell, wigan. wn5 7AA. I ordered 1 large chips, 2 large sausages a small gravy and charged. £8.84p while opening the pocket of chips I found an NOT-SO-LARGE greasy over cooked...mess so called chips the tub of gravity was ok, but I would like to warn everyone that the sausage, what I did in what undercooked, as it was cold pink in the middle. it is the worst chippy in wigan! I also consider to be with wigan health safety food hygiene. because they eat with money without washing, there are hands. disgustet "

"Haven’t been here in a while , so excited when we decided on a chippy tea. What a soggy mess . The chips were inedible , bad , some burnt some almost raw and some chewy . Fish wasn’t that good either . So dissatisfied . Should have just thrown the £16 straight in the bin where the 2 meals are now !"
