"Great Fish!. This was the first time in longer than I remember that I didn't have to peel off half of the batter from the fish. Normally when<br/>I get fish and chips from places the batter is heavy and greasy, but at Reliable the fish is battered in a light and crisp coating that is not at all greasy. Loved it. Ok maybe the fries weren't the best but the fish completely makes up for it."

"Oyster Boy was booked for our anniversary dinner. It’s been 6 years since we’ve last paid a visit and the quality of food is consistent and has not changed one bit! Our waiter William was amazing, he took note that it was our anniversary and gave us two glasses of complimentary champagne and a small starter. I thought that was a nice touch! It definitely made our night extra special. He also suggested a few main dishes that were his fav and we followed through with his suggestions. I thought that was pretty smart to do so because it speeds up the ordering process if couples are indecisive. FYI- the squid and jumbo scallops are the best dishes on the menu! Of course, when you’re at Oyster Boy, YOU HAVE TO ORDER THE OYSTERS! We ordered two of each kind and can say some West Coast oysters are more on the saltier side. Both West and East coast oysters are good but I prefer East more for my palette. I saw two gigantic filters in the restaurant, it was nice to see some clean ventilation going on. The hostess was also very friendly, I felt bad because not only did she handled the phones, she handled the front-end and she dealt with walk-ins and orders. One lady who was waiting in line and later got told there were no tables for the rest of the night ended up yelling at the hostess but she dealt with it professionally. I reassured her that she was doing a great job. I didn’t get her name but she deserves a raise for doing 5 different jobs on a busy night. Highly recommend Oyster Boy, lovely food and lovely staff. Just maybe reserve a table few weeks in advance to avoid disappointment of not getting a table last minute."

"An institution on Queensway for over 45 years, where my dad used to pick dinner from here! This is a classic, no frills fish and chips diner. The fish was fresh and had a nice ratio of batter to fish. Fries were of the fairly run of the mill, thick cut pub variety. Portion to price ratio, I would have liked to see a bigger piece of fish (ordered the halibut for $18 (1 piece of halibut, fries and a drink .Atmosphere wise, it appears the decor was maintained since the late 70s (maybe a refurbishment to keep the look and feel since then? . It's no date place, yet there is still table service. If half stars were possible, I would give this a solid 3.5 star rating for the food. Better fish and chips can be found elsewhere, yet this will still satisfy your craving."

"It was Summerlicious and it was lunchtime for those who work in the area so the noise level was too high for my liking. I dined with 3 other people and overall the dishes were good but not stellar. The server was prompt and efficient even though it was very busy. I wouldn't mind trying other things on the menu when it's not Summerlicious."

"Was with a group of four, two of which had been here before and had raved about the food. We arrived for our 6pm reservation, which didn't seem to matter since we were seated without anyone asking our name or confirming our reservation in a book or computer. Our waiter Tony gave us menus, but not so much as a "hi, how are you doing tonight". I only know his name because it was printed on the receipt at the end of the meal. He then brought us water which was warm. I don't just mean room temperature, but warm! None of us could drink it. I looked for our waiter to no avail. I did ask a waiter from another table for some ice, explaining the problem. He brought some ice for me, but too bad for my three friends -- lol. I added the ice to the water, which promptly melted.I ordered a Caprese salad (one of my all-time favourite salads) and the stuffed chicken. Waiter returned to say they have no ingredients for the Caprese. Really? At 6pm on a Saturday? Bizarre. I ended up changing my entire order to their Saturday night steak special, the same as two of my friends. They each asked for medium-well, and I asked for medium-rare -- which really didn't matter at all, because all three came well done. Waiter wasn't remotely interested in the fact that they were over done. We had theatre tickets and wouldn't have been able to wait for new steaks to be prepared, so we didn't request this, and just ate what we were served -- which turned out to be tough and chewy (surprise, surprise). No follow-up to the table asking if we were enjoying things. No follow up to the meal asking about coffee and dessert. Other strange thing -- it was 30c outside and the heaters were on! I accidentally leaned by bare leg against one and burned it. I told the waiter who, instead of apologizing, just walked away (although he did come back with one of the chefs who turned it off).On the way out, we had to pass Tony who just stood there staring at us. No "have a nice evening" or "thanks for coming". He's got to be one the most lacking-in-personality waiters I've ever come across."

"Delicious food ! My daughter 11) and I had a great time our waitress was great although there seemed to be a lack of attention paid to patrons on the patio. Which would have been fine except there was one waitress on yhe patio at all times not our waitress) but she literally stopped and talked with friends of hers for the entire duration from being seated to us paying for our bill. I feel as though she was there to see to the diners on the patio refills etc) but we couldnt get her attention. The food was fantastic though and would definitely visit again !"
