"It’s a nice break from the beachy touristy restaurants on the seawall. Service was fast and friendly. Food was good, but not excellent. More a personal preference (i.e. cornmeal catfish type breading on the shrimp)."

"Was able to go early and was sitting immediately. really? good table service. the waiter checked us at least four times during the meal. great eating and expect large portions (no one of us cleaned our dishes). a really great meal and would come back"

"The pictures look very appetizing. but looks like that. the haistiche (shrimp) were very good and the crab balls. but everything else fell very short of tasting well. the crust of the fish just feels apart. the pina colada was terrible, I didn't finish it. but I've eaten there last year and it was fantastic. I was there on a bad day, a very bad day."

"My wife and I ate dinner here after several hours at the beach. What a fun place! Great food, great service, friendly staff and a beachy atmosphere: what more could you ask for? After eating and resting, we walked right out to the Strand and continued to enjoy all that Historic Galveston has to offer. We will be back when we return to the island."

"This was an awesome find. Although we just stopped in to grab a coffee while we explored Dickens on the strand. We were so happy to find this place. The atmosphere was awesome. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Coffee was great. Although we didn?t eat here, the food we saw leave that kitchen looked awesome. We will be back to try it in the very near future!!"

"We came from a camper park in the lively Seawall area, where we felt disappointed in the restaurants and overwhelmed by the mass. so happy that we made it! this place had everything we tried in galveston. huge portioning, friendly staff. delicious! not touristic, not bland. highly recommended. we had rubber beans, red beans and rice, wels, alligator, the black bead-po-boy and utter. everything was excellent!"
