"We came in for my wife’s birthday on Friday evening. Reservations for 4 people at 7:30. We arrived we’re seated promptly. Service was ok… We asked another young lady (not our server) about the hookah lounge was given VERY vague informal, no offer for a hookah menu or pricing. Drinks appetizers were great, however, we sent back 2 entrees the curry shrimp because it was served almost refrigerator cold we also sent back the oxtails due to lack of flavor. No Manager came to check on us, ask if we preferred anything else."

"On our way to an event at the Royal Farms Arena, we picked Dempsey's since it was on the walking path from our home to the venue. We knew going in that it would be a sports bar, so we did not expect haute cuisine or impeccable service and we were proved correct. Arriving on time we still had to wait 15 minutes even though we had a reservation. Once seated, three different servers tried to take our orders. Burger, steak salad and club sandwich entrees were all average at best. We lost another 15 minutes after dinner when one of the servers disappeared after we had asked for our check. As a result we barely made it to our event on time. Blaring lights and loud fellow customers made the experience less than enjoyable, but we knew that going in. Oh, my fellow diners said the wines they ordered were the worst ever, so stick to beer."

"I 've eaten at restaurants and bars across five continents, but never been treated more rudely than I was tonight--and before I even ordered a drink. At the time of this review, the Alewife restaurant website was advertising happy hour Monday-Friday 4-7 the bar ; these are literally the first words featured on the website (screenshot available upon request). I sat at the bar and asked Valerie (the name she gave me), whom I assume is the owner, if they offered happy hour food specials. She said, No, we do not, and walked away. I pulled up the website on my phone to ensure I didn 't misread. When she returned, I showed her that the website advertised a happy hour and she snapped back, audibly frustrated, If you want to argue about it, I 'll give you a dollar off. My jaw dropped. I wasn 't trying to argue, I just wanted to understand. She said they don 't offer happy hour on show nights. The restaurant is situated directly between the Hippodrome Theater and Everyman Theater, so I assume there are shows frequently. I swallowed and asked if she understood why I was confused, given the information on the website. Still upset, she snapped, I 'm not in charge of the website. I can give you a dollar off if you 're going to complain. I thanked her and left quietly. I was not trying to argue. Had she simply explained the happy hour policy, I would have shrugged and ordered at normal prices. It 's the difference of a few dollars--certainly nothing that would have dissuaded me from ordering food and drinks. But she was so angry, so quickly. As a result, I didn 't order and won 't be returning. In my living memory, I 've never had a restaurant or bar treat me so poorly."
