"I hadn 't been to this restaurant in about 10 years, but had gift cards so decided to try it out again. When we arrived my wife and I were seated at a table to the right of the entrance very close to the door which certainly must have been the worst seat in the restaurant which may have detracted from the ambiance. I heard later that the table next to us was initially put there but they asked to move. Our waitress was kind and professional and provided good service. My wife and I both ordered the striploin and frites. After we ordered our waitress came and told us this is a Californian striploin and wanted to make sure we were fine with this. I wasn 't sure exactly what this meant, but having had striploin many times I figured it was fine. When it arrived it was 2 inches thick and looked much more reminiscent of a filled, but was much tougher. It wasn 't bad, but certainly was not what I expect and the tenderness wasn 't great. Unfortunately for the price (49+tax) there are much better options in the city (Merchant Tavern comes to mind). We also found the atmosphere not to be our preference, but this is certainly a personal preference and I believe was influenced by the table we received. Not sure we 'll visit again given the plethora of great dining options downtown. Overall an okay meal."

"We eat here every few weeks. Sometimes we're 20 people with young kids sometimes we're just a few. The staff is so friendly, the food is great. Then just got a delicious dark roast coffee. Try the toutons."

"I come here frequently, as I'm often delayed for offshore travel. Wait staff are super, and now recognize me and just wave me in (I feel like Norm from Cheers). California burger with the salad is where it's at... so good I got the salad recipe and now make it at home. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for."

"We had the first opportunity to visit this food truck yesterday and it certainly won't be our last! I had the Indian curry which was delicious with fresh veggies and chicken over jasmine rice. Generous portion! Husband had fish tacos which he thoroughly enjoyed! Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!"

"My husband and I went here for our first dinner at St. John's. The seared tuna was excellent. Seasoned well. The sides that came with it were a few black beans and roasted orange carrots. This was ok. The basmati rice as a side would have been better with jasmine rice. The french country salad was excellent. The roasted beets and caramelized honey vinegarette was really excellent. This salad was probably the highlight of the whole dinner. My husband had the surf and turf. This was very good. The disappointing part of the dinner was the caesar's salad. They used the core of the romaine. This was too close to the end. The bacon should not be in a classic caesar's salad. We sat at the bar and ate. This was fine."
