"I don't know what to start to describe this... experience. The dishes were barely defrosted. The mimosa eggs looked like a kind of egg white reconstituted and covered with a greyish and very oily mixture. The salad was very fade: two small pieces of melon, a handful of salad and a Burrata, all for 14 euros... The pasta was too cooked. The dessert was dry and tasteless. Apart from a waitress and a nice waitress, the rest of the staff was as cold as their dishes. In short, an address that takes advantage of its location in the tourist area to turn on customers. To flee absolutely."

"Man sitzt zwar sehr schön und der Kellner war freundlich. an ein schlechteres Essen kann ich mich aber nicht erinnern.Als Bruschetta mit Tomaten und Mozzarella gab es eine große Scheibe Brot mit Tomatensauce und einer dicken Schicht ueberbackenen Käses,der nur fett und geschmacklos war und nicht an Mozzarella erinnerte.Dies konnten wir ebensowenig essen wie die Tagliatelle mit Meeresfruechten.Die Nudeln waren zerkocht, in einer geschmackfreien Sauce könnten wir neben reichlich Gräten nur kleinste Tintenfischstuecke und etwas Thunfisch identifizieren. man fragte uns dann auch nicht,ob wir Desserts oder Kaffee wollten."

"As this was our first evening in Calvi, we decided to go along to the sea front to find a restaurant, and came across a long line of them, of which Le Bato Ivre was one. We took a nice table outside at the front overlooking the harbour and out of the cool breeze. We ordered our meal (from the Menu Corse a tourist set menu of local dishes at a fixed price) in French naturally, being reasonably competent in the language, but our waiter decided we would all speak English. I ordered the smoked charcuterie, followed by the veal with olives and pasta, and a caramel flan for dessert. The food arrived before the wine, and as our confident waiter delivered the wine glasses with a flourish, he managed to drop my glass onto the table, shattering fragments over my starter! These were soon replaced with apologies, and the meats were of good quality and the quantity generous. The veal was also good, but I found only a couple of olives and not many of the vegetables described. The caramel flan, however, was disappointing small, bland and uninteresting. The local wine was very good, and we were given a digestif on the house after the meal. The atmosphere was fine with local people."
