"I am now convinced the only tasty thing to purchase are the patches. Can’t do it wrong. I ordered a chicken meal at what I received was a little chunk of dried up chicken breast with some cream cheese spread on and a handful...of woody old asparagus. Oh and little pieces of red peppers (I had asked for no rice and extra veg) Lol. Wth happened? I asked the waitress would you pay for this? She quietly said no. The manager came over. Asked what the problem was, and all he says is “ it is usually served over a bed of rice”. No offer to replace or ask how it could be improved. Rude. Anyway. Life’s lessons. Just stick to deep fry you can’t go wrong."

"We decided to try Barcelo's today for lunch. I ordered the chicken burger and my husband ordered the hamburger. The appearance of the food was very disappointing. No sauce on the burgers, just a plain, dry toasted bun. Not even any butter.A leaf of lettuce and the tiniest tomato slice possible.I ordered mine "very peri". I took one bite and gagged. The dry bun was so unappealing and the peri sauce was not hot at all. I was hoping to get a little burn. Nothing.No flavor on the chicken. Tasted very vinegary. My husbands hamburger was a plain dry bun, and a tiny slice of tomato. He didn't want lettuce. The thing that threw us off about the burger was that it was grey in color and very mushy in texture. Gross.We were so disappointed that we didn't even ask for our money back. We just left our food on the table and walked out.We had only taken just one bite and we both spat it into our napkins.Gross.I am a chef and I would be embarrassed to serve that to my worst enemy. I have Portuguese friends that would be embarrassed to have it classed as Portuguese food. We will not go back and will not recommend Barcelo's to anyone, ever."
