"Lovely old building and location with an odd anatomy theme, but unfortunately the food and quality didn't match. Coffee was ok but not hot, food was tasteless and plate was impossible to eat off with the vast quantity of food, no butter on toast and had to ask for serviettes. Quantity, not quality in a nutshell."

"ATMOSPHERE: Spacious, bright, glass windows and warm! Clean, sophisticated, black interior but not sterile. <br/ <br/ STAFF: Nice, friendly, quite alty <br/ <br/ FOOD: I have had a good experience and an average one. My partner and I both had smashed avo on bread (one with salmon and feta and the other with bacon and poached egg) and both were truly fantastic, a true value for money. They were VERY generous with their avo (later explained due to over purchasing) but still a good indication they use fresh food. Flavour was good and it was extremely filling. Another time I came with my friend we had the chicken waffles with mustard maple syrup. The chicken and sauce itself were great but both our waffles were hard and over cooked which was disappointing. Perhaps a better batter recipe. I also didn't like the pickled red onion but it made nice colour. <br/ <br/ OVERALL: Would come back, they use fresh food that is locally sources which is pretty cool. Also their dinner club nights ad curry/wine nights seem awesome so will have to try that some time"

"Easily my favourite cafe in town. Brunch menu is always hard to choose because it looks so good. Cheese scones are the cheesiest! Friendly staff who make you feel welcome every time and good banter. Dog friendly"

"Cool and calm atmosphere with a very cool old tube system. The menu states if food will be delivered by tube and understandably the less casual food comes by plate. I got the omelette and bread which was a good breaky. Everyone enjoyed their meals and is a good brunch place."

"I feel bad for being the only low star review for Strawberry Fare. My friend and I came here for dinner services. Honestly I think its dinner that was really bad because everyone seems to come here for desserts and brunch. This was what we ordered: Kikorangi Blue Cheese Plate Salmon Ceviche Braised Lamb Pappardelle Tropical Coconut Freeze All the dishes lack in flavor, especially the Pappardelle. Watered down sauce, with no flavors, and the pasta was not good. The lamb was so tough and it shouldn't be because it was braised. As for the ceviche, they give you a lot but its does not look like the normal ceviche you would get anywhere else, just gross. We did like the Tropical Coconut Freeze. It was our only dinner in Christchurch and it was disappointing. Also, service was super slow even when the restaurant was not packed. I just don't understand the high reviews."
