"I'm up in Armidale solo for a few days on business, it's always hard to find restaurants that suit a lone diner so sometimes you have to take your chances. The smallest table they had seated 4... It has a very social fine dining vibe, yet still very cosy, that would be well suited to a family members birthday dinner or a private function. The service was great, the waiters are very neat, attentive and polite and seemed to genuinely care if you were enjoying your meal. The food itself was very nice, I had the lamb ragu tagliatelle pasta and you could tell it was home made, my only suggestion would be that a ragu should really be meat that has melted off a bone rather than mince, but the overall flavour was still very good. I love a restaurant that offers free bread and better yet when its served with whipped herb butter, sadly my roll was a little stale though. I branched out and tried wheat beer cocktail with elderflower and lemon, which sounds quite strange but if you've ever had a Radler in Bali it's like a fancy version of that and quite refreshing. I would have liked to have tried a dessert because they all sounded nice and I'm sure they would have had that homemade feel and taste, but I was too satisfied after my pasta to eat another bite. At the end I was also very pleased with the pricing, you could easily pay more at an average pub and not get half as nice a meal, service or atmosphere."

"There are so many coffee shops to choose from in Armidale so it is a tough gig being competitive. I like Altitude on Dangars Street near the taxi rank as it has space and you can sit 'upstairs ' or by the window plenty of space and privacy"

"Yum! we stopped a bit later on the day (2ish) after we had just arrived in armidale. we were hungry, but we didn't want to pamper the dinner, so we decided to share a baguette. almost half of the menu had already sold out. the baguette does not disappoint a perfect baguette that was soft and chewing. curated pork fillet, such as prosciutto. tomaten, chili and pecorinoslaw with rocket and olive grove. sooo delicious. the partner also had a blueberry Custard dunish that was a bit thick and stoney in sharing, but we will forget that and just focus on this great sandwich! so good!"

"The coffee here was really good. Service was friendly and energetic. We didn't try any food, but the cakes looked awesome (hello chocolate mud cake! and there is a pretty comprehesive and appetising menu that also has a good range of vegetarian options. Definitely going to give it a go the next time."

"For someone with an egg allergy this cafe is brilliant. I had two hot choices that were egg free and on there two options that could be varied. They also do three different pots of milk infused chai! Fantastic."
