"Everything here has gone downhill dramatically in the last few years. Service was abysmal (no restaurant manager), food was meh at best and popular dishes were unavailable in the middle of lunch service (no kitchen manager), and the drinks take so long to arrive it barely deserves a mention that they were quite good. Staff were quite peculiarly dismissive and condescending and a complaint to the manager of the entire establishment resulted in him standing over me demanding that I look him in the eye while he spoke. The whole thing was reminiscent of Fawlty Towers and I would recommend you choose any other of Brighton’s quite generous restaurant offerings over this debacle. Altogether an unpleasant experience and not what any of us hoped for as a Sunday lunch."

"Not so dog friendly. Although they accept dogs here, it's not a place to bring them. The gardens in front of the hotel is the only restricted space in Kemp Town that you are not allowed to take your dogs on. There are six alternative open spaces within two miles of the New Stein. See the sign from the council. Which is absolutely terrible if you need to take your dog out for a quick break at night. The hotel also has a restriction that you are not allowed to leave your dog in the room unattended. So you can't leave them for an hour or so to go out to a restaurant or bar. Yes there are dog friendly places to go but not if you want to go somewhere upmarket that dogs are not allowed. Parking is a joke. On street parking outside the hotel is £14.80 for 24hrs pay and display. You can get a discount voucher from the hotel which is only valid in permit holder resident bays which are nowhere the hotel. That's if you can find one after driving round and round endlessly. The hotel itself is run by a French gentleman who can be very off hand with answers to any questions you have. Rooms are clean and compact. Bathrooms small with the flow of water from taps as slow as an old man with prostrate problems. Full English if you can call it that. See the pic. At £12.50 was not worth it. Which took at least half an hour from ordering. Staff were pleasant enough. Booked here because it's supposed to be AA four star and recommended breakfast. The inspector must of been Stevie Wonder."

"This is my 3rd time at MeatLiquor Brighton! Each time I have taken somebody new and they have loved it! It's not for everybody; dark, loudish music, and very basic tables. But for me, this is perfect. The food is amazing. Never had burgers like it before! And the sides are all amazing too! I love that it is served on a tray to encourage group interaction, and then a roll of kitchen towel is provided instead of plates! And I have never been able to complain about the service! Very friendly and very helpful. This is a unique place, and if it wasn't for the fact that this place is perfectly individual, I would ask for more!! :"

"So so good. I’d heard great things about Manjus but it still exceeded expectations. Service is exemplary expert knowledge of the family recipes and how to order. And the food flavours jump off the plate and dance around your mouth. There’s plenty of spice but also lots of delicate combinations across every dish. It’s beautifully presented and lovely to share with friends and family. I can’t recommend it enough.
