"This restaurant has now changed property and serves Asian cuisine and pizzas. Family of 6 tried it on the off chance and all very happy, food is delicious the spicy chicken is excellent and service is also very good. The menu is... on a board in the restaurant, it looks like it often changes and the owner said that they also make theme evenings like curries or wings and ribs. Prices are very cheap with 6 nets, 2 appetizers and drinks, which arrive at just over 100 €. We didn't have to book, but I would imagine that as it is better known, it could be advisable. A very nice addition to the city."

"I left a five-star rating earlier for this fabulous place, but as soon as they opened, I think it is very much that Mary and Nick have gone from strength to strength in every respect. The ambience is excellent, the service is personal and well maintained while not intrusive. The wide range of spectacular teas and coffee is in the second to none and everywhere is immaculately clean and beautifully artistic, a real pleasure just to be there. But what about the food you ask? Well, I left the best until last, as the food is so good and consistent. Perfectly fresh and fabulously tasty, all house cooked with health in the head, you will not find better. Mary cooks and prepares everything that leaves her kitchen to maintain the strictest quality control. This is our "fortunate place." You can park on the square in Confolens and enjoy the beautiful short walk over the old bridge or you can drive around and find parking by the river or along the road. If you can, this is a popular place loved by French and English locals."

"We live ten mins away. This is a fantastic real French cafe. Everything produced on the premises. If you don't speak French don't worry menu is easy to understand. Three dining rooms on the last visit all the workers had tucked themselves into one family's...in the small one. Food is great price is great. This is a rural cafe with excellent food. Car parking easy as it is at the tourist station."

"Mary is so welcoming and extremely friendly, the ultimate hostess and it is a lovely place to go. Food good especially the cakes and scones. Handy for the shop side also."

"Was informed over the telephone of a large party of 16 arriving and so was given the option of arriving before them - a good idea! Good friendly service, tasty food and would definitely return. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for!"

"My partner and I ordered beef steaks from the menu which certainly wasn't to our liking. We thought we would be safe enough with a simple steak but how wrong we were. My partner's was barely edible but at least he managed half of his....Mine was shockingly bad and as tough as old boots. After it was sent back, another appeared within 30 seconds and was the exact opposite. Completely uncooked on one side and the fat hadn't been rendered down at all. Sent this one back and just gave up. Owner arrived to say he would bung it in the oven for 2 mins and it would all be fine. After I refused he said we would still need to pay. A bit of an argument ensued in the restaurant. We the went to pay and had a full blown argument in the bar when we refused to pay for that one meal. Of course we wanted to Settle the remainder. He threathened to call the police and we invited him to do so. We asked him if he had ever heard of something called customer service and then after others started to take notice he then decided not to bill us at all even though we still tried to pay for the remainder of the bill. We left with a bad taste and would certainly never come back again. Avoid at all costs"
