"Vincocentral is unique. A delicatessen with emphasis on Western Mediterranean food. A wine shop with focus on European wines: German, French, Italian, Spanish, Austrian, mainly. And all the wines and a wide selection of the food you can consume also there. But the main point...is the atmosphere: the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, relaxed. The guests have a great time. Sometimes, wine producers present their products. Once a month, a jazz combo plays. Occasionally, there is a BBQ with super-good meat. But it is difficult to do justice to the place by describing it. One must experience it. If I could name only one place in Darmstadt where I can go, this would be it."

"It is always a pleasure to dine here. Food quality is excellent, as is choice and variety. The desserts are so inviting that it is impossible to pass on them even after at the end of a full dinner. Prices are above average of course...(a full meal is about 30-35 plus drinks), but the food is worth every cent."

Obwohl ich Flammkuchen-Purist bin, empfehle ich auch mal exotische oder süße Varianten zu probieren. Bedienung scheint manchmal etwas streng, ist jedoch flott und zuverlässig. Einmal gab es keinen Cidre (deswegen nur vier Sterne)"

"Once again, this place shows that the location and food do not need to be fancy to have a great food experience and evening. Pisco sour (cocktail): strong and not too sweet = perfect. Chilcano (cocktail): refreshing but strong = perfect. Ceviche: not too many onions, just perfect level of spiciness, sweet potatoes and cancha = great. Papa a la huancaina (potatoes with a thick spicy creme) was excellent, and so were the anticuchos (heart skewers). The lomo saltado (filet with onions, tomatoes, French fries and rice) was also very good - as always.The highlight, tho, was the seafood tacu tacu (refried rice with beans with seafood stew). It was just as I remember it from my youth in Peru - so pure bliss. Portions are very generous. They also offer steaks et al. but I usually stick to Peruvian food. The T-Bone brought to the neighbor table looked quite good, tho. I've always eaten downstairs, but with the food weather, sitting outside was so much better, also because the setting reminded a little bit of a little booth by the beach (incl beach bar and background salsa music). Highly recommendable. If you have any requests (e.g. you want soursop smoothie or want to have a Chupe de Camarones [a very rich prawn soup] or picarones [fried sweet potato/ cabbage donuts with special syrup]) call them 2 days ahead of time and let them know. The owner will make sure they have it available."
