"Unable to get a dinner reservation, we ate lunch here instead, and it ended up being the best meal we had in few days in Tournon/Tain l'hermitage thank heavens as we weren't enjoying the area muc from a culinary perspective.The food was beautifully prepared, fresh and creative. The wine list had an excellent selection of Rhone wines, with reasonable markup, unlike Le Quai, which was poor in both regards.Highly recommend for either lunch or dinner."

"We weren´t too sure about this restaurant at first,as there didn´t seem to be much movement but we were pleasantly surprised. We ate outside in the square which was very nice, and people started sitting down around us. The food was very good and plentiful. The waitress was very helpful and we had great fun trying out our French as she knew no English, or very little. The prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend this place."

"If you're looking for a place to relax and experience France as a local this is the place. Fabulous traditional lunch offering at amazing prices and lovely staff. You'll be surrounded by friendly locals. Good wine offering and nice coffee. Sit outside on the terrace and watch the world go by or pull a chair up at the bar and talk with the locals. The resident dog is very cute adding to the atmosphere."

"We had a good meal there on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was a little warm, but there was a heat wave and many places we ate were warm. What only happened here, however, during our visit to France eating at over 30 restaurants, was that we were charged a fee to convert our bill from Euros to Dollars, without our asking for this to be done. We use a credit card without a foreign transaction fee, and pay in Euros the credit card company converts to USD at a reasonable rate. At Le Tournesol, we were charged a 3% fee to convert the Euros to Dollars, so instead of $1.17 per €, it was about $1.21. We protested to our credit card company that our intention was to pay in Euros, but Le Tournesol countered, and they had the goods on us. There, just below my signature, in small hazy print, was the verbiage that I agreed to pay extra. We did not ask for this “service” nor did Le Tournesol advise us they were doing this. This happened once on a previous trip to Ireland but the owners quickly fixed the issue when it was pointed out. Not Le Tournesol. They stuck by their guns and kept the service charge. So examine the bill carefully when it comes. Get them to bring a lamp so you can easily read the fine print and then carefully read everything on the bill and the credit card charge. Or eat somewhere else may be more relaxing."
