"Very poor service. food was over cooked, we had salad on a hot plate, so we had cooked salad, it over an 3/4hour for starters and hour to get the main course which rubbish. Staff we friendly. If we had been told there was a wedding going we would have gone somewhere else."

"Is there a new chef? Having visited the Fox and Hounds on quite a few occasions and always enjoyed super meals, written reviews and recommended the place to numerous friends particularly for the superb Sunday roasts, today was very disappointing. The beef which normally doesn’t need a knife to cut it as it is so tender it falls apart with just a fork was tough and chewy and the roast potatoes which are usually great looked and tasted as if they had been previously cooked and then warmed up!? Even the red cabbage wasn’t as nice as usual. As we were on the early sitting we certainly expected freshly roasted potatoes. On previous visits our plates have been completely empty when returned to the kitchen, today the potatoes found their way back to the kitchen and the dogs were delighted when we got home with left over beef for them. What happened Fox and Hounds? Something has changed."

"First thing to say is the food was excellent. Very tasty and good quality ingredients. The service is helpful and relaxed, the meal is served at an unrushed pace. Not a place to come if you are in a hurry. Not really knowing Japanese food found the menu on the tablet computers difficult to navigate and the choosing experience a bit stressful. And since you can't order via the tablets seems a pretty pointless process. When we got paper menus things got easier. I was disappointed that Sake is only available by the bottle. But when I mentioned this to the owner at the end of our meal, he shared a bottle with us gratis. All in all an interesting experience I expect we'll come again."
