"Can’t go wrong here! First time visiting Gruene and chose this restaurant. Small town vibe with historical feel. Very welcoming easy going vibe on Sunday afternoon 11:30 am. Best time before the rush. Got an outside table overlooking the Guadalupe River! Nice cool breeze and the service n food fantabolous! And the prices are great! Be hungry when you go because you will get large portions! Lunch Dinner all the same!"

"Friendly staff, very good food and a cool atmosphere. my wife and I both had the chicken steak with gravy, I had the fries on the side and she had smudged the kartoffels. we both thought that the steak was well prepared and delicious, with a very good brot on it. it's easy to see why this is a favorite dish. my wife thought the kartoffeln mashed would be more garlic taste on the basis of the menu description, but they tasted still good. portions were large, we could probably have shared a deer and were good, but we decided that we did not make any rest and are glad that we had our own records. we also left space for dessert and the jack daniels pecan pie really hit the point. I thought the chocolate chips, if not necessary, complicated it well. my wife thought it needed more chocolate based on his description. we had said the prices were a bit high, but we didn't think so. if we're back close to gruene, we'd like to try some other dishes again, as everything that came to the tables around us looked great."

"I had #1 tender #4 two piece chicken. The chicken is really greasy, the bottom of the box was soaked, but at least it wasnt dry. The gravy is ok, kind of bland and biscuit was the best out of everything we ordered. The okra was hard not good and tenders were ok but nothing special. I order gizzards every place i go and these are the least of my favorites, because they simply were too chewy with most part i had to spit out. Im going to stick with Bushes chicken"

"I used to like this place just came back from this location. Let me tell you something. I love chicken I ate at chicken express 2 days before eating at bushes chicken. Both places are using cheaper bater or something the crust didn’t stay on from either place. I call it covid prices, they fell fir this hole hoax and the world shut down, now everyone that sells food is giving us less for more. This batter is not the same from chicken express or bushes. I also ordered gizzards the ones they gave me seemed about 3 hours to long under the light. Crust wouldn’t stay on them either. Hard as a soft rock. I would avoid all fast food chicken places. Once they apologize for stealing from the American people with lame chicken and higher prices fir no reason then I will return. Nasty chicken and gizzards you can see for yourself"
