"Wow, what a disappointment! Wings were mushy! All the liquid from soup dumplings were in container, and dumplings were stuck to the bottom. Chicken in General Tso"s was super chewy! We threw out our entire order!!! What a waste!!! Definitely a pass if you like good food!!!"

"There is not enough Cajun food in the Orlando area. Living in Oviedo, the options become even worse. Once upon a time, I stumbled upon Fire's original location up in Orange City, and it was fantastic. I was like, man, I have to come back here sometime. And the one day, boom, Fire on the Bayou, in Oviedo. A dream come true. So anyway, I came here once before, right after they opened, and had a pretty good boil. I was very happy. I just forgot to review it, then. Now, about a year later, I decided to come back here for Mardi Gras to get some good food. And I was not disappointed. I will say that the restaurant was very obviously understaffed this night I came, so it took a very long time to get seated and to get the food. But that's kind of ok right now, with the employment crisis going on. The food that did eventually hit my table was long worth the wait. We split three things, two apps and an entrée. One of the apps was the Fried Green Tomatoes (Green tomatoes lightly battered and fried then topped with crispily fried crawfish tails drizzled with Cajun cream). Talk about indulgence. The make or break thing here was the LIGHTLY battered green tomatoes. The batter was so delicate and nice, it really let the tomato be the star of the show here. Which is so rare in this world that slathers batter way too thickly on everything nowadays. I also had the Catfish Bites (Hand breaded and fried to perfection served with jalapeno tartar sauce). The batter on these was thicker, but in a good way. Each bite had a nice crunch to it to go along with the perfectly moist and flakey catfish. Catfish is the best fish in the world, and this dish explains why. The entrée we split was, of course, a Fried Shrimp Po' Boy (Large Shrimp hand-battered and fried to perfection served on French bread. Topped with all the fixins (lettuce, tomato, and pickle) and our house-made Remoulade sauce. Served with choice of side: fries, Cajun coleslaw, red beans rice or potato salad). First of all, go look at the picture. The thing is topped with almost too much shrimp. I say almost too much, because whatever shrimp fall off the sandwich you can just throw into your rice and beans. A po' boy's largest factor of quality is its bread. This place uses the right bread, soft yet strong. It has to be strong to hold up to all the toppings and the sauce. The perfect sandwich, reminds me of home. Overall, when it comes to the food and the atmosphere, there is nothing wrong with this place. There was a live band that played that night. I love, love, love this place."
