"For Australians, its normal. Not cheap. Not expensive. Ive been eating in Japan and i noticed food is cheaper here. 5 skewers each plate but its small whereas the other place across the river 2 skewers but its bigger. So its hard to compare. I judge that this place is slghtly expensive. The bbq guy was working hard, he was sweating. Hopefully not on the food. Its lively, interesting to watch"

"My favorite restaurant (vegan or otherwise) in kyoto. Their vegan calbi rice dish is better than the actual thing. *update: they no longer serve their signature kalbi reisschale, but they have amazing grilled veggie rays that are the best to ever have, and the bbq tofu shell is still great."

"After trying to go there for dinner (it was closed, even though it was supposed to be open) we went there again for lunch and were so happy we did! The set lunch menu costs 1500 Yen plus tax and it was delicious! It consisted of rice, a sort of tofu skin/mushroom soup, vegetables, a piece of delicious creamy tofu with salt, crispy tofu skin and a small salad. I thought for the quality and amount of food it was quite reasonably priced. I’ve read some reviews though, that it’s different during dinner and there seem to also be a table charge. So try to go there for lunch if you enjoy some more traditional Japanese food."

"I didn't know that the mixed reviews here or the doubt whether the food was vegan in this restaurant. I just thought it was because it was a schojin ryori restaurant on tempel grounds and I'm sure everything I ate was vegan. I had a great selection of dressed, all very tasty and beautifully presented. at 4300 yen I also thought that this restaurant offers a very good price. some schojin ryori restaurants let them easily hungry also with a elaborate spread of oriented, but that is not one of them."

"Owner is super nice and even gives yiu recommendations on sightseeing spots. One vegan ramen dish and the gyoza can also be vegan. It's a nice thing to do if you are sightseeing in kyoto, they even take a video of you while they set it on fire. (8/24 don't know why it currently states its temporary closed, opening hours are correct to the ones you find on Google."

"Huge selection of all types of gyozas! strains by veggie and I even think vegan options as well as something for everyone. the personal is also really amazing, super friendly, speak good English and create a fun atmosphere in the restaurant. we had a bare seat that was fantastic because they can see that they prepare everything. highly recommended!"
