"Friends introduced us to this restaurant even though we frequent this strip mall and have walked by it numerous times through the years. They said that the sweet and sour pork was really good so I had to try the dish for myself. Over the years, I can count the number of times on one hand I have ordered take out Chinese food. Over the last 4 weeks I have ordered take out 3 times; basically too lazy to cook after going to the gym. On this last occasion, I ordered Singapore fried rice noodles $9.50) and Cantonese sweet and sour boneless pork $10.95). The total bill with taxes came to $21.47. Both were authentic dishes and tasted pretty good. The rice noodle dish was advertised as spicy but not spicy at all. I’ve had this dish at other restaurants and it is never spicy; basically a mild curry powder used in the dish. The sweet and sour pork had the right amount of sweet and sour. On another occasion we ordered the black bean sauce beef rice noodles flat wide noodles like fettuccine); another authentic tasting dish. Ratings Breakdown • Quality and taste – above average. 3.5 out of 5 rating • Portion size vis à vis price – Dishes were above average value given the size of the dish and the amount paid. For example, the Singapore noodle dish is in the $15 range at Number 9 Restaurant. 3.75 out of 5 rating • Service – The takeout order took less than 10 minutes. 3.75 out of 5 rating I would rate the overall food experience as trending towards good 3.75 out of 5 rating. Notes Tips: • If you’re going to order sweet and sour pork, order the Cantonese Sweet and sour pork that is deep fried and then pan fried the authentic version). The other version is battered deep fried pieces of pork served with a sweet and sour sauce. On all 3 occasions I have ordered the Cantonese sweet and sour pork. • Credit cards accepted • Limited seating inside – seating for approximately 10 people. • 10% discount for takeout over $25. "Fairly typical Hong Kong style cafe that offers fairly good food at reasonable prices. With these places don't expect much in the way of service, fancy decor, or cutlery. I had a curry beef brisket (a tad too much fat maybe) with rice and a Hong Kong style milk tea for about 10. It should also be noted that this is a cash only restaurant, they don't accept debit or credit cards."

"We were following the progress of this brand new restaurant and were hopeful that we'd discover a new Chinese restaurant on the west side of Richmond. We decided upon dim sum as our premier visit. The restaurant was very well appointed, the service was mediocre and the food just a bare pass. The most discouraging factor was that this restaurant has overpriced itself charging almost double of what other Chinese restaurants charge (i.e. just under $9 for har gow.........insanity)"

"This place as been around.... This place has been around forever, I'm pretty sure it's gone through a lot of different management in its time because its quality has had its ups and downs. More recently the food has been good. The pork is good, and everything doesn't taste like MSG! I'm pretty sure they're advertised as being MSG-free these days."

"We made reservations after the opening hours, so it wasn't too busy when we were there. the place was quickly filled up and I could soon find out why. after ordering various dishes the tee arrived and then within minutes were the first. our dishes available. within a few minutes after that, all our dishes we had ordered were ready and waiting for us for the table. the service was fast and the waiter who served us was friendly enough. the bus boys were also fast to remove all the plates that were emptied as we made our way through the dishes. my friend has made the order, since I never know the names of what I eat, except through. since most customers appeared as Asian, it did not surprise me that our waiter needed another person who spoke better English to process our payment at the end of the meal (we tried to tell them that they share the bill, but finally gave up explaining and putting everything on a credit card). a wonderful meal that I will definitely return for."

"This restaurant is one of the local loves to hang out, especially for the family dinner, birthday, high times, nothing extravaganza about the ambiente, but food on all wise solid, much better the vancouver location, it is old style dim...sum house, varied traditional cantonese dimming sum, all busy and packed and loud! not a good place for business partner, I was invited to spend a busy day! the decor very comfortable, spacious, covid 19 guidelines beautiful made, we have a nice private room down, it is a set dinner menu king crab dinner I think that the king cab comes from korean, not alaska? $68 per pfund! average size is eight to ten pounds, wow! they come with three stadia, steam ,deep fried,pan fried, nothing I can complain, but I'm just happy, have my $75 steak at any time! I love their signature specialty squab, the steamed rod cod very tasty, very traditional cantonese cuisine, it is 12-course dinner! very high quality, service could be more professional, I had to remind them to change the dirty dishes so often, other wise, see them, everyone enjoyed their dinner, I don't think they have come back here the squab! P.S. I wish I could make some pictures of the king cock, I am not allowed because is bad luck for birthday function."

"I have been visiting this noodle place every time I am in Vancouver. Their Wonton noodle is still very good. Noodle is thin and of the right texture. They also have other Cantonese small dishes (tapas?) that are worth sampling if you are adventurous enough (for non-Chinese). Price is reasonable."

"I came here on my birthday, such a wonderful restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. The location is PRIME by the waterfront overlooking the marsh and marina in a quiet area, I ordered mee Goreng and Kari Massaman curry dish both with beef and I am so pleased with the flavor! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everybody I know."

"The Taiwanese food here was delicious. Beef noodle soup was simply humongous, the biggest bowl I’ve seen for that dish. Cash only, but takes American dollars. Quick service. Will visit again if I ever return to Vancouver. I miss their food already."
