"Great everywhere! great hospitality, great eating, great landscape, and great mosquitoes. we had chicken chips, fish and chips and a brownie on Sunday. all were perfect. they were very friendly to our greyhound we brought, and several patrons came to our table to house the dog. what an excellent opportunity to spend the afternoon after a short walk around the carter scenic reserve."

"Saturday evening. the restaurant was completely booked, but we could sit in the bar area and order in the restaurant. a bit loud for us, but that was our own fault to not book a restaurant table. good friendly service, fast . eating was very nice and filling. burger, steak and pizzas. must return and try more about the menu."

"Although the prices are quite high, you know for sure the money is going into actual quality ingredients and well prepared food. You won’t be eating something super processed which will probably kill you in the long term. They mean it when they advertise good quality ingredients on their website. The sizes were pretty big too. The burger I ordered “The California” was great, it felt close to a homemade burger with the ingredients being much much fresher than an average burger chain. It was also assembled nicely too, none of that slapped together nonsense you see at McDonalds where half the filling has already fallen out before you even touch it. I would have liked the patty to be a little more seasoned but its not that big of a deal since they give you a little salt sachet to add yourself if needed. The fries were ripping hot, crispy and don’t leave a heavy oil feeling in your stomach as you would feel after eating chips from a cheap Fish N Chip shop. They were properly drained after being fried and were not cooked in oil which had been reused a billion times. The way BW do the chips is a big green flag, love it when chips are done well. The two women working there did good to make a great first impression, I certainly will pop in again for another burger when I’m around Paraparaumu again."

"We were a night in a very comfortable room that had character. sharing the bathroom was not a problem. has dinner in the restaurant, which is a 10 for fantastic eating along with excellent service we were made in the bar to watch the AB game and it was family as we all gathered to watch we had already decided to visit again but stay longer as it is very central for local activities and attractions."

"Great variety of food, lots of gluten free choices delicious looking sweet treats in the cabinet. Quick kitchen, cheerful engaging staff. This place is very popular on the weekend, I suggest you book. Easy parking right opposite the beach for a stroll afterwards."
