"The staff was very nice and is a dog-friendly pub, but eating was terrible. it was probably the worst steak-ive, which was until then moderately rare, but imo it was well made on the inside and carved on the outside, the peppercorn... sauce was extremely thick and creamy, which was repulsive. they calculated £7/8 for a tomato garlic bread in which they are not properly cooked and actually cut."

"Great place to eat lunch in Kirkby Londsale with a separate vegan menu. The staff were great, welcoming and friendly, nothing too much trouble even though it was really busy. Lovely oat milk latte and chickpea and avocado ciabattayum. Not a huge sweet selection, but the owner said that was being worked on, so I'm sure they will have something lovely and cakey in the near future as an option. Dogs welcome too. In the back of the cafe there is a little wine shop and with organic and vegan wines for sale bonus! All in all, a great experience for our first eat out after lockdown and would definitely recommend."

"Excellent customer service, staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was amazing, the fish chips and mixed grill were out of this world. Never seen a fish so big!!! Would highly recommend."

"Visited for breakfast. Staff are friendly, service is good and they are dog friendly. We had cooked breakfast one veggie and one not. Prices are reasonable. The meat breakfast was enjoyed although the egg was firm. The veggie one was not as enjoyable. It is...personal preference but the veggie sausages were not nice and the scrambled egg was dry. It is a small cafe and the tables are close together; not sure how accessible it would be if in a wheelchair. It was very busy and in these times it was a bit worrying, but again that is possibly just how we felt. I would go again for a quick snack but maybe not for the veggie breakfast."

"Excellent food with great service. Small restaurant but definitely the best I have been to in Grasmere and it is many years since I have enjoyed a meal as much anywhere in the Lake District. We had the special starters. Crostini were wonderful and the starter portion tortelloni was excellent. My wife had hake which was perfectly cooked and I had the lamb which was great. And both were decent sized portions (unlike so many so called fancy restaurants). No hesitation in recommending."
