"La Presa de Olla is a worthy destination in Guanajuato. La Victoriana is worthy in its own right, because the menu is varied and everything is reliably delicious. You'll love the front porch of this old building, it is a great place to enjoy the...relative peace of La Presa compared to the Centro district, and whether it is a traditional Mexican dish such as tortilla soup or something unexpected like Greek salad, the food is reliable. Dessert and a cappuccino are an absolute must. (Hint: there is also terrace type seating at one end of the coffee and dessert bar, down a short staircase) In the evening, the restaurant is lively with locals and tourists alike."

"Everything indicates this restaurant changed ownership. In their attempt to make a more "sophisticated" menu instead of leaning towards a traditional local one they have failed completely.Everything yes, EVERYTHING we ordered was bad... period. Either overcooked, microwave heated or cold. The sauces were very bad, the overall experience pitiful not to be re lived.I hope they turn things around and return this restaurant to what it used to be; AND ACCEPTABLE OPTIONService is awful, wine selection almost non existant."

"We were there with our friends. had a nice table on the terrace. all foods were excellent from starters to dessert. I had the goat cheese appetizer in the fried package wonderful. my wife shared the foie gras fried ravioli. superb. My...lamb cops for the main course with a blueberry sauce were excellent. table shared risotto with spade. we had cream brule for dessert. wein and service were excellent."

"There are many restaurants in guanajuato, but few around the embajadoras. for those who stay close to the baseball park or the presa de la olla, this is a good bet. family-run, clean and inexpensive-served from the to about (or maybe later) and offers sopes,...gorditas tacos-plus comida corrida (or meal of the day). I had a wonderful chile relleno, plus sweet soup and a drink (fruit) for pesos or over fresh pressed orange juice in the morning!"

"We stopped in on a whim and were delighted to have done so. La Creperia offers crepes, pasta, hot chocolate, coffee and blended drinks (non-alcoholic). You can select the ingredients for your crepes, both savory and sweet. We started with savory crepes and they were...delicious. Larger and more filling than expected. My wife liked what I had the first course and ordered that. I got a dessert crepe with fresh strawberries. La Creperia is a very short walk from the Plaza del Jardin, and adjacent the historic Plaza Baratilla. We highly recommend this restaurant."

"I was in Guanajuato for two months and Empanizarte had just opened the week I arrived. It is small, with wonderful service, the owners spoke both English and Spanish fluently. They specialize in vegetarian food, amazing salads that served as a full meal for my kids and I, homemade bread (some of the best I have ever had, so dense and healthy). I loved their hummus, which the owner made fresh while we waited. Their daily waters mixed with fruit juices and sugars are refreshing. too. With the warnings on eating lettuce, vegetables, and drinking the water in Mexico, I was so grateful for this place because I was honestly tired of washing all my fruits and veggies in Microdyn. Empanizarte made eating healthy very easy - everything was fresh and homemade. They also sell clothes and jewelry from India, so when entering the first time, I almost left because I thought it was a clothing boutique. The owners were very friendly, we enjoyed talks with them when eating there - they are compassionate, artistic, and friendly. It's small, so big groups are hard to accommodate big groups, but it also serves as an art gallery."
