"I experienced the lavender tea room for the first time recently and although a wait of about minutes, as it only serve people and therefore only sitting on the tables outside, it was worth waiting. the environment is pleasant. the tee and latte were beautiful and the top cake with large slices of wensleydale cheese were delicious and the complementary chocolate and biscuit was a nice note. the interior seating area both in the ground floor and in the upper floor are pleasant. the critique I have, however, is the tea towel hanging on one of the server belts and being halfway away and although in this branch can be usual, I find quite unhygienic. but despite everything when I visit thornton le dale in the future, I hope to go back the lavender tee room, but I hope I don't see this tee cloth again, or at least not at the wrong place."

"We came as a family last Sunday and couldn’t believe how cute the little building was on the outside and transported you back in time when you stepped into the tea parlour. Our host was Stacey who was really friendly, funny and attentive. We decided to go get a selection of the classic afternoon tea and savoury afternoon tea- both were so tasty and made to order. The bread for the sandwiches was so soft, the fillings especially the egg mayonnaise was creamy and not eggy in the slightest. The cheese scones and pork pie were delightful too (Stacey told their secret to making the cheese scones so light and fluffy). The onion marmalade was so moorish we ended up buying a bottle to take home. The classic afternoon tea was also delicious with everything being well presented, sweet but not too sweet and plentiful (we took a doggy bag home). The presentation of our afternoon teas was lovely and we loved the china as it dates back from the early 1900s and some from the mid-late 1800s. I have to say that this is the best afternoon tea I’ve had in the U.K. and after travelling and living abroad. It is definitely worth booking going, you won’t regret it and I can’t wait to go back!"

"Visited for a family reunion meal and was really impressed by everything. Friendly, professional staff. Exceptionally clean toilet facilities. Ordered a prawn sandwich and a beer. Was informed that the beer is locally brewed and was great value for money at only £4.95. The sandwich was served on a soft granary roll and was amazing. The price was £8.95, which was great value for such a large portion size. Shame it is not closer to home or I would be definitely become a regular. Beautiful setting and a lovely relaxing afternoon."

"This was a great find in this part of the United Kingdom! I have a sandwich on gluten-free bread. Almost all items on the menu can be made gluten-free, and they offer delicious gluten-free cakes for dessert!"

"Quite literally stumbled across this lovely tea shop after walking across the fields from Thornton Dale. Just as we were thinking a cup of tea would be very welcome, there it was! There were tables both inside and outside, and we took an outside table...in a pretty courtyard. We had tea, and cakes and scones, which were delicious and it was difficult to choose from such a good selection. I felt it was good value too. Definitely somewhere to return to on another day."
