"Walked the dogs in a very flooded Porthkerry park today, be aware the pitch and putt is now a series of made ponds and the walk along the tree edge has gone. Beautiful sunny day so we sat outside for lunch, ordered the Mexican chicken...baguette which came with a lovely side salad and crisps but.. the chips here are amazing so had to have what came literally as a bucketful,lol, fresh crisp and very hot. I did take a photo, or so I thought but damn phone did not register it, just got a shot of the flooded paths etc. Well worth a visit and a great price., two superb meals just over a tenner."

"Visited this restaurant called Raglans at the Copthorne Hotel , Cardiff for Sunday lunch with a group of friends.Nice large dining room ,well appointed over looking the lake ...pleasant staff and beautifully laid table with white table clothes and sparkling glass wear BUT ...the food...was extremely disappointing ...really poor ..the vegetables were so hard I could cut the carrots or the roast potatoes...I like al dente veg but these were totally undercooked ...a huge Yorkshire pudding was added to all the meat dishes .I had chicken and didn't appreciate this.It is usually an accompaniment to beef surely ?...only one of our party of 7 ate the Yorkshire pudding and she because her beef was inedible ...stringy and cold ...very poor indeed .She did speak to the waitress but she said she would pass it on but no one came to investigate .The pudding of peach crumble I enjoyed .A very disappointing lunch when The Manor Park..The Beech Tree and The New House all do fabulous Sunday roasts .We will not be visiting Raglans at The Copthorne Hotel in Cardiff again...change the chef please..."
