"I was on the North Shore this weekend and was craving Chinese. Asked one of the localbretail stores for advice on which one of the half-dozen Chinese places for the best. The lady at the till told me that I'm the ones that were close...we're okay but the one over by Safeway was the best one. They make their own stuff and it's delicious she said. I made my way over there and ordered up an egg roll and a lunch platter of sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken chow mein. Your typical Canadianized Chinese lunch plate. I probably should have asked if their egg roll was made with an egg roll wrapper or was a battered type. Not the biggest fan of Tthe battered type. The Egg Roll come out probably 10 minutes after ordering. To my disappointment it was the battered type. The egg roll sitting on top of a paper towel on a little plate. The paper towel was soaked in grease. I could tell just by looking at the egg roll that it was going to be a greasy mess. The egg roll was straight out of the deep fryer so it was hot which was good. The egg roll really had no taste besides greasiness. Even the plum sauce on the side didn't really help with the greasy taste. When the main plate arrived the food looked Fresh Hot. The chicken balls look like they were not your typical pre-made chicken balls. They look like they may be were homemade as well. They were a little bit on the smaller side than a regular chicken ball but it looks like they didn't have quite as much dough as a regular chicken ball. They actually had the same batter on them as the egg roll and had that same greasy feel. They tasted good though and the sweet and sour sauce was really good. The chicken fried rice was pretty tasty although it was pretty greasy as well. The super super thin strips of chicken kind of threw me off a little bit. At first I couldn't tell what they were and then I realized they were almost like strings of chicken. The chicken chow mein had zero taste and was dry as a bone. I could have picked the whole thing up in one fork full it was so stuck together. Overall I would say this is definitely not my favorite Chinese place. I did like the fact that everything seemed to be made from scratch but it wasn't my cup of tea. In fact I actually had to stop at Tim Hortons on the way home to get hot beverage so that I could get the greasy taste out of my mouth. I probably wouldn't go back a second time."

"Both dishes were excellent examples of classic comfort food, using the best sauces and adding a few simple ingredients to make some tasty creations. As for the Pepperoni Pizza, our girls almost finished the entire 10” pizza on their own so I think it is safe to say that they loved it. It was an excellent belated Father’s Day 2011 meal…. We were very satisfied!!!"

"My friends and I have been going to Peter's for more than 20 years. We have always enjoyed Peter's character and service AND Jackie's excellent cuisine. NOW, we are truly enjoying Peter's Daughter , Nicole out front and her wonderful Chef, Husband in the kitchen . Anyone out there that thinks they had this fantastic restaurant handed to them... needs to give their head a shake. It is work with a Capital W! They trained with the best and now will continue to keep up the wonderful tradition of terrific service and delectable food.. The best Caesar salad in Kamloops!On Thursday night we ( all 7 of us)enjoyed a fantastic meal and great service.. It was not rushed... everyone should keep in mind... this is NOT a fast food place. DINING is the operative word. Congratulations from Cookie, Robert and Patrick"

"I ordered soup, turkey and veg, my husband asked for a chicken parmigiana with no onion. Waitress went and checked with the chef about the onion and said it was ok. We also asked for two serves of garlic bread.Soup and bread arrived fairly quickly, complete with 2 dessert spoons. (No cutlery, napkins on the table)WeI waited for the other meal to arrive.......I finally ate mine as it was getting cold. I requested a napkin from another waitress who brought us two and said meals shouldn't be too long.After another 20 minutes or so our original waitress asked if we would like dessert. I explained our second meal hadn't come yet. She went off to check and then told us we hadn't ordered anything else. This us when we should have left!We waited for the meal, a complimentary drink and apology were given. Meal arrived. Chicken breast fillet was a canary fillet. Tiny serve and vegies with onion all through it. The lady at the next table was served the same meal...Huge!We cut our losses, paid the bill and left."

"Stopped here for dinner while in kamloops for the night. The waitress immediately warned us that the restaurant was short staffed. Thankfully that didn't have any consequences for the food we ordered. My group and I started with two appetizers. One Saganaki and one escargot. The Saganaki is served with a spray of Ouzo then lit on fire, I enjoyed the presentation as well as the cheese, the escargot wasn't too bad either, definitely not the greatest but better then average. As for our main we ordered the Greek platter. Definitely not disappointed a huge quantity of food with a ton of extra pita and tzadziki, the ribs were seasoned with an exceptional dry rub, the prawns were equally great with the addition of Greek potatoes. Now i do have to say a few issues we encountered and I speak for the table as we shared this experience, the garlic flavor was incredibly powerful, we could still taste the garlic the next day, and lastly this isn't a crack at the restaurant but leave early as parking can be very difficult to attain especially on a Friday night or a weekend"

"Last time at a Mr. Mikes was in the 90's and they have changed the way they serve.Atmosphere was good,service was good,and the food was good but not amazing.It was an average restaurant that serves no frills meals that satisfy the customer. Nuff said.I had a steak that was cooked nicely and that is all you need. Price was average for a restaurant."
