"We walked from our hotel to the Huaca pucllana archeological site and decided to ditch the site's restaurant for being too fancy. On the walk back we saw La Gorda and while looking at the menu on the window, the head chef/owner walked out, answered...our questions and offered the 3 course daily special. I had Champiñones al ajillo (garlic mushrooms), merluza a la romana (fried sea bass with tomatoes), and opted for an espresso as dessert. The menu included a glass of wine which was dry and paired the fish beautifully. The coffe came with a marshmallow and chocolate treat wich was a nice palate cleanser. The portions were just right and they kept bringing slices of bread to the table as we consumed it. The 3 course menu with wine was about 9 USD, which makes this a Bang for your buck (or Sol) without any frills. I'd definitely recommend La Gorda to anyone."

"Very nice modern restaurant, beautiful design. The staff is friendly, but not very attentive. The sushi are still excellent, even sashimi. Very good quality of fish, very tasteful. The Agedashi Tofu didn't convince me. Another very good option for Sushi in Lima, I recommend it."

"Don't understand the recent reviews. The pizza was undercooked and worst of all there was some plastic presumably from the sausage casing cooked in it. No Apologies or anything from staff. Avoid this place"

"As soon as you walk in, you are impressed with the detail in the décor. You feel like you have stepped back into time; take your kids and they will ask you ´what is that´? in reference to the typewriter or the old black and white tv.As we had enjoyed this restaurant on many occasions while living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, we were really looking forward to ordering meat. There are many choices for beef cuts and we couldn´t decide, so we ordered 3 to split between 4 people. All were excellent and cooked to our preference. You also get fries, or baked potatoes, salad, etc. You can take your own wine and other beverages, alcoholic and not, are available. The desserts looked yummy but we were full, so that will have to be another time. Service was good, but a bit slow to take our order when we first arrived. After that, everything went smoothly. I was disappointed in the lack of cleanliness of the women´s bathroom; the trash bin was overflowing, but maybe I am just picky! There are also two private rooms to celebrate special occasions and I am already planning to return for my birthday. The restaurant is full until around 4 p.m. when it starts clearing out, so reservations are needed."

"Today during my discovery walk thru Miraflores, I found this place. I was dying to eat some tacacho (mofongo in Puerto Rico) and some patacones (tostones in Puerto Rico). Well, we found La Tapadita. The food was superb! The prices are unbeatable! AND the owner was in the restaurant. I was able to talk to her and learned lot more about the Peruvian food. Next week I am going back again for more tacacho and she is going to include the puertorican twist on the tacacho. Awesome local food and great prices."
