"Went there on a Friday night (last night) for an early dinner (voucher), straight away greeted by a warm welcome by the person in the bar. We were given a choice of where we wanted to sit. He Showed the menu and explained what we...can have. He was very attentive and consistent in his warm and friendly service without being intrusive. Offered to take photo of our family when he saw we were taking shots of each other. Knew when to refill our water without being asked. Even wiped our table clean to prepare for dessert one of the services I've only seen at Dinner by Heston. Felt bad that I didn't leave tip for him last night so instead I'm writing this review to recognise the great service we had. By the way the food is not bad either. We had the course meal deal and the stand out dishes for us are the satay chicken -so moist, juicy and tasty even without having to dip in the sauce , very generous portion too sticks for an entree. The calamari salad was also good. Calamari is cooked well -very tender, I love the dressing of the salad good balance of sweetness and acidity. Spiced poached pear was so yummy, scooped all the juice out to try and work out what's in it. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Thank you for the wonderful evening."

"This is the best japanese (especially, sushi and sashimi) restaurant I ever had. The meal quality is all extremely high-level. This is the best place for real. I just do not want to recommend any other place if you want to have japanese food."

"Kreta Ayer Chatswood is one to avoid at all costs. We went there after seeing how busy it was. However, this was a mistake. We had the worst crab here. It was the most overcooked crab I have ever had. There was no juice left in the crab and the sauce was overly salty. The food was bad but the service was worse. After waiting for an hour, we were finally given a table but was told the cashier was now closing so we were asked to pay straight away. This was well before closing time and before the kitchen had closed. They then mistakenly gave us another table's dish and we were given someone else's dish. 2 separate incidents. They also forgot to make one of our dishes and refused to cook it because the kitchen had closed. They insisted we should just take our money back for the dish. Only after complaining, did they cook it. It was a rushed job too so it wasn't done properly. By this time, all the staff were wanting to go home. They had their jackets on!! We were asked many times if we were finished. We hadn't been there that long before they started doing this. Don't risk it folks, There are many great restaurants in Chatswood. Going here will ruin your night. Eat elsewhere."

"Hu's Inn offers Taiwanese Street-food snack meals. The majority of the menu consists of fried items (cuttlefish balls, chicken, pork chop, fries, hotdog ..etc), assorted rice and noodle dishes. We ordered a set dinner box which consisted stewed fried pork chop and a bowl of braised beef noodles. We also ordered 2 small side dishes - Taiwanese fried chicken and sweet potato chips in plum powder. Overall, the dishes are flavoursome but a little too salty. They also offer alcoholic beverages but the choice is very limited. The dining space is very limited, not suitable for large groups. Service is friendly and the price is reasonable for the rice/noodle dishes."

"This place really gives you a taste of the Philippines. If you've never tried filipino food this place is a must. The restaurant is located literally on the corner of Railway st and Help st in Chatswood. Side street parking is a little hard to find when its busy, but its on a quiet side of the main road. As for the food we had, Lumpia Shanghi (Small meaty fried spring rolls), BBQ pork skewers, Kare-Kare (Filipino style beef peanutty curry), Crispy Pata (deep fried pork with crispy crackling), Sinigang ni Hipon (Hot, sweet and sour type soup with prawns) and then for dessert Halo-Halo (Mixed sweets with ice cream and crushed ice), Leche Flan (filipino style creme caramel)The mains take a bit longer than usual but the servings are large. One serving of the soup and the crispy pork can easily feed 3-4 people if ordered with rice.They do banquet style eating as well so its great for a large group. I wouldn't call the food fine dining but it is tasty and filling. There are some more foods to eat but couldn't fit it all, so we did take away and ate it at home.Its a place to check out and give it a go. "Great place if you like Sichuan! Worth trying. Varying degrees of spiciness on dishes. Dishes are big so can order but more and take away for later too. Some of the dishes are great for a group of friends to just sit, nibble on and drink beer. Good place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon sitting at a table near the window and chatting."
