"This was one of the more inventive and flavorful of the 20 restaurants we have tried in Trani. There was an attention to detail that one would expect when paying much higher prices. We were delighted by every course. It was incredibly great value for the quality of the meal."

"This is a upscale restaurant, not a casual pizza place. Thus by definition the wait staff should be able to communicate and answer questions. They could not AND they were not friendly at all. Worse yet this was the worst meal that we’ve had in Italy after 2 weeks of travel here! The food was tasteless, both main courses and a appetizer. I cannot recommend this eatery to anyone!"

"Brother and sister venture that manages to encapsulate the zero kilometer wholistic new Mediterranean fusion etc etc dining experience by giving the traditional Pugliese holy trinity—fish, vegetables and legumes—a respectful and often surprising restyling that manages to please both locals who have ‘been there and...done that’ every Sunday dinner and tourists just discovering Puglia in a plate. "This restaurant should not be missed. The chef and his wife present visual and culinary masterpieces. The spinach and ricotta ravioli is amazing. The desserts are over the top. This may have been the best meal I have had in Italy."

"In a city where there are many trendy and di moda restaurants (many of which are very good), Monastero is a welcome throwback to just plain simple and good fresh seafood. Tuna great. Sword great. The cooked and raw antipasti great. The ricci were a particular treat. Several shrimp dishes had a more contemporary flair and were delicious. The service was great. Our waiter, Alessandro, was excellent in all respects. We ate at Monastero on a quiet night and on a very busy Saturday night, and, on both occasions the service was excellent, right along with the food. We also noticed a lot of the guests were local people, which always says something. So, if you want to hit a trendy, social media hyped trattoria, go for it, but, make sure you leave time for at least one meal at Monastero...you 'll agree that some things are better left unchanged and that experience counts. Buon appetito!!"
